Although I witnessed this twice in the same game (although he was struck in different ways and reacted differently), I had not seen it happen in another game in the 6 plus hours I have spent playing/watching. I didn't feel that it was overdone.

whats the point of them adding real time presentation of they dont have overlays and boradcast style stuff with it? That seems like a waste cause I will never play with rtp on if thats the case.Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
Are errors like really common in a game? Because the most errors I would have in 09 during a game was 1 or 2 every 2 games.
Just a question, I apologize if it sounds odd.Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
The minor league teams really need to have more "real" prospects on them...i saw the reds minor league teams and they only had 5 or 6 actual players...of which they did not have Arlodis Chapman, Mike Leake, Yonder Alonso, Todd Frazier, Chris Heisey, and others...they really need to step up on the minor league rosters and get rid of all those fake playersComment

Some games have the real players, but they give them a fake name and you change it and they had their real stats and real size too. MVP did a great job with that. All you had to do was go edit the real name and you were go to go.Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
Just got a solid 2 hours in at BB. As others have said, many people walked by and gave positive comments..."it looks soooo real"..."ewww, you're playing as the Doooodgers?" lol...
Pros:
1. Ball/bat physics are fantastic. I saw some bouncy-ness that others noted...but not horrible.
2. New camera/broadcast stuff has done wonders for the game. For all the posters who have been complaining for years for them to do something with the cameras (me included), this is a nice change. Still not perfect...I'd like more cam choices and I couldn't figure out broadcast and RTP and what the differences were. As as side note, for all those who were tired of us asking for changes in CAMS/presentation, now do you see what a welcomed change it is?
3. Graphics are great. New animations are great.
4. HR derby was fun. Batting practice was fun. I hit a couple of balls completely out of Twins new stadium with Babe Ruth.
5. Replay cam showing where the ball lands is nice.
6. Plays like baseball. Realistic pitch breaks, hits, nice crowd interaction, etc.
CONS (being very picky cause there isn't much wrong):
1. Sometimes the ball is off camera.
2. The ball is just slightly too bouncy at times. Other times its perfect.
3. Still lacking a bit in the presentation dept. Would be nice to see a few more on-screen stats which are situational in context. I would rather see stats in game, than spend time off-game going through them all. Career vs., or vs.L/R type stuff would be cool.
Hard to find much wrong with it...I had a blast.Last edited by silver540i; 02-27-2010, 05:52 PM.Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
Real Time Presentation (RTP), refers to the fact that everything you see is happening real time, aka no more prerendered cutscenes. The old Broadcast presentation included tons of cutscenes that, while very cool, sometimes were off because they were just cutscenes.
The new camera view this year IS called Broadcast, but it is in refence to something completely different... the view you see while fielding.
Also, for those of you going to Best Buy to play, you have to MANUALLY go into the options and CHANGE the game to RTP, as SCEA (for some odd reason), chose to leave their old presentation as the default.
There are two RTP choices as well: RTP w/Replay, and RTP. They are exactly what you think.Last edited by Guest; 02-27-2010, 05:55 PM.Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
Just played a couple innings at the BB by my house. Graphics looks great, however I'm not sure if it was the final build because there were a couple things which I saw in there which I had not seen in some of the gameplay videos.
I played a night game in chicago and everyone was wearing long sleeves, however some of the gameplay videos showed players during night games without sleeves.
Also, something that stood out was with the White Sox black jerseys, I could see like a white outline at the shoulder which was weird at times. However, this could have just been a problem with the TV they had.
Overall, the gameplay and the graphics were very sharp. Much better than last year.Comment

Lol, no, that's not right at all.

thats a nice summation of the presentation/cameras, as its confusing to some.
Me too!
As far as the lively ball, i notice it too. Comes with the territory as partof the new ball physics i suppose.Comment
