"And to some this may seem like nothing was done to the game, which in my estimation is BS."

I agree, but nobody has really said that. Even though myself and others are saying it feels like The Show 09 again, that's not at all saying that nothing was done to the game nor it is a bad thing that it feels very similar to The Show 09. A lot of good things were added to this years version of the Show.

2K10 is not the better "overall" baseball game this year, but it clearly excels in certain areas vs the Show this year. That has not been the case in recent years, thus closing the gap between The Show. All the reviews, videos, etc. put out thus far have shown that 2K10 has a respectable product to purchase for this year.

The Show is still King. The Show 10 added some really great features to distinguish it from The Show 09, but not enough for me personally to reignite the fun factor I had so much with The Show 09 or to make a purchase at "full price" this year.

Exactly. If you loved 09, then you'll love 10.

I don't get why people want some big changes. It's already the top baseball game IMO so why change it.

This year they've made huge steps forward. Yeah they didn't add anything like right stick pitching and whatnot but they built on what they already had in 09, which was the best baseball game to date, again IMO.
Most of all, they didn't just add stuff that THEY thought would be good, they added what WE thought would be good. The SCEA team has to be the most interactive team in all of sports gaming if not in gaming completely.

Also, after playing this game myself, you can't go on what other people say. Once you play it for yourself you'll see how amazing it really is.

But I'm pretty sure the Yankees Kei Igawa won't be in the default roster because he didn't play at all in the ML level in 09.
He wont be in the MLB team, but he will be in AAA or AA. So u can always bring him up....and god forbid he is projected to be on the MLB team he will be in a roster update.

I have to say, I have been incredibly excited to play this game all winter...sure I love all sports games but Baseball is special...and this game is the greatest baseball game ever. However, I have to say I was disappointed when I played it at the kiosk in Best Buy last night. Other than a few minor tweaks to the Franchise mode as far as transaction rules, slightly updated graphics, and the new real-time camera between innings....I found the game to be EXACTLY the same. Sure there are a little better player animations but the game was the same. I was hoping for there to be more updates...more features that would justify buying an entire new version and I didn't really see that. The franchise mode was identical and the presentation was very similar as well. I like what they updated but we deserve more of an upgrade....I am still waiting on a create a team mode like the one they had in the last All-Star baseball on the x-box....ehhh...I guess I was just expecting more. It's a great game but...I don't really see much additional work.

This was the first thing I considered, but everything else seemed to be moving at the appropriate time. To know I'm not the only person that has experienced this (and my TV has lag as well... so this "lag" would have been much worse) raises concern for how it's really done. I'll know in two days, I suppose.

And who confirmed that the build isn't final? Do we know what else was tweaked in the game before this game went gold? Hopefully something about the pitch meter and ground physics.

What type of features are you seeking to make it a worthy buy in your opinion?

I think the people who are playing the retail version around the web, are confirming things that are in the game. As opposed to those who are just relying on the best buy experience claiming things that have been proven wrong, leads me and others to believe that its not a final code but close too final. Best buy people claiming no stat graphic overlays, no score ticker and a host of other things that are factually wrong.

Re: Kiosk Impressions (Best Buy Build IS NOT FINAL)

what 'new features' are people lusting for? this is a sports game- not World of Warcraft.

Personally, I love baseball so much that I would gladly play Triple Play 98' if it were the best game available. But luckily, we have a game that is so amazingly life-like that our desires for improvement are things like bat boys and rain drops.

When you take a step back and look at what we have, MLB The Show is absolutely mindblowing.

To those of you disappointed with a lack of new features... I have to question if you are only casual baseball fans?

New features are great, but to me the most important aspects of a sports game are: gameplay, graphics, and the quality of franchise mode. If a sports game is superb in all these areas, all I can really ask for are new animations, updated rosters, and subtle changes that improve upon the older mold (stat tickers, new replay angles, expanded franchise options etc.)

I guess what I mean to ask is: what new features are you looking for? what would make a new version worthy of purchase?

The new fielding camera, the new livelier bounce ball-physics and the daytime progressive lighting are more than enough for me.

I finally got a chance to visit a Best Buy and play MLB 10 at the kiosk. There is a definate improvement with lighting, player animations for sure, and little things with the presentation.

I am a White Sox fan, and I always play out a full 162 game season with the Sox, so I was pretty dissapointed to find that US Cellular Field has not been updated to include the new Out of Town Scoreboards and the new score board out in left field.
I also was dissapointed to see that the same issue with the Sox Black Alternate uniform, where the left sleeve seems to be disconnected, is still in the game.

Still looks like it will be a fun game.
I will see you at THE SHOW!!
