Played it BB a few hours ago, Phillies @ Yankees, 9 innings, Halladay Vs. Burnett, Real Time Presentation ON, Broadcast Cam ON. First off the graphics were greatly improved, even with the game clearly not on 1080p. Halladays wind-up was finally fixed. How good the pitcher is affects how well you hit, more so than 09. After 5 innings I had one hit off of Halladay, a HR by A-Rod. He was yanked in the 7th, after that I had way more hits. The broadcast cam takes some getting used to, but after 4 innings I had it down. Fielding was vastly improved. Throws felt more natural. Real Time Presentaion is GREAT, very smooth. The new pickoff system is nice. Got Rollins on the 3rd to 1st move. Didn't get a chance to check out HR Derby or Catcher Mode. The only thing that I didn't love was that the batting cam behind the catcher is too zoomed in, it might be able to be changed though. Overall great game. Can't wait for March 2nd!

One thing I noticed. You know how every player has a card with a picture of them in real life? Well Matt Holliday's card was of him hitting while he was still with Colorado. Just thought that was weird.MLB: St. Louis Cardinals
NBA: New York Knicks
NFL: Houston Texans, St. Louis Rams
NCAA: Georgia Tech Yellow JacketsComment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
I love that feature for editting player's to resemble the real-life player. Basically as u are looking through the rosters u press the triangle button and it brings up a baseball card of the player. Then when the card comes up u can hit the X button to turn the card around and look at the stats. But yeah, some photos are old, but a lot of the Red Sox ones I saw were all new. But there was one player that I think had the wrong card. Someone elses face. Can't exactly remember what player it was, but it might have been Bard. LaterComment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
I own both a PS3 and 360 system. My pre-order for the game was done weeks ago. Here is my honest opinion after playing the full version at Best Buy for about 45 minutes to an hour.
The game is solid although playing on Best Buy's TVs doesn't do the game's graphics justice. But in all honesty, the game felt too familiar to 09. Even with the real-time presentation on, I just wasn't say wow to myself.
After playing the 2K10 demo, I have really, really grown to enjoy both the pitching and hitting using the analog. When I switch between it and the Show's buttons, 2K10's system gives me more control and satisfaction, especially with the pitching. At first, I didn't like 2K10's pitching. But the more I practiced, the more I perfected the different gestures and really enjoyed the control and satisfaction of strike outs based upon my concentration to hit my spots.
I also like the stats layout in 2K10. I also believe that I will enjoy 2K10's dynamic commentary, something which I really enjoy in NBK 2K10. I literally am already bored with the commentary in the Show.
The Show's commentary can't compete with this year's 2K10s. Also with people like myself that enjoy the use of the analog for pitching and batting, the Show needs to provide an additional option to choose between the two such as what 2K10 has done this year.
I honestly believe the Show has lost some ground this year, but because it has been the King of Baseball for so many years, it's getting perhaps some overrated props based upon its history vs 2K10s history and its strong backing of PS3 followers.
I do believe the Show will be the more fine tuned game this year, especially graphics wise. But as far as feeling I'm paying $65.00 for a solid baseball game that will quench my thirst for something new, (dynamic commentary,up-to-date cumulative stats) and different (analog pitching/batting), I'm going to make the switch to MLB 2K10 this year.
I'm sure I will pick up the Show later down the line when the price drops, but the Kiosk experiment zapped any excitement I had to buy the Show this year right out of the gates based upon it feeling just to darn familiar to 09.Comment

The Show's big advantage is that it just feels like baseball and the OS community and rosters, really SCEA owes Knight and these guys because they may be the one reason I buy the show over 2k10 this year.Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
Lol, no, that's not right at all.
Real Time Presentation (RTP), refers to the fact that everything you see is happening real time, aka no more prerendered cutscenes. The old Broadcast presentation included tons of cutscenes that, while very cool, sometimes were off because they were just cutscenes.
The new camera view this year IS called Broadcast, but it is in refence to something completely different... the view you see while fielding.
Also, for those of you going to Best Buy to play, you have to MANUALLY go into the options and CHANGE the game to RTP, as SCEA (for some odd reason), chose to leave their old presentation as the default.
There are two RTP choices as well: RTP w/Replay, and RTP. They are exactly what you think.
so my question is what broadcast elements are removed when RTP is turned on? Someone said they dont include the broadcast elements when RTP is turned on, is this true? Im not talking about camera views, I am talking about overlays, graphics, etc.Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
This isn't a knock on you, as I'm sure you're not the only person who feels this way, but I don't see why people need to have something that feels new just for the sake of something that feels new. I'm not going to get into a Show/2K debate here, but I think that anyone that actually has a PS3 and purchases 2K10 is nuts. But again, that's just me, and I do realize that everyone has personal preferences which could make one game more appealing that the other.
But, it does appear that we will have 2 good baseball games to choose from this year, which is always a good thing.Comment

Has anybody tried the new base running controls. Do the have them in RTTS mode to or just in regular play.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Some where in one of these threads I will look for it. I think it was either Knight or Nem. I believe if I remember correctly they talked about having running be on the the L1 and R1 buttons if you didn't want to use the thumbstick. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

I think everything in regular broadcast is supposed to be in RTP.

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
- Classic base running - Don't know how it works but probably involves L1/R1
- New Base running (not so new as it was in 09 and, if I'm correct in 08) - in which you can use L1/R1 to advance/retreat all runners.
