Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
It was stated that this is going to be the animation this year for every homerun. Something about that being the animation they could get to tie into the RTP. Slightly annoying but in the grand scheme of things, not a big deal. I'm sure it'll be addressed next year.Comment

They said they are looking for more variety next year. I think it is cool myself.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
In that bar that comes down under the score displaying Morneau hit a three run blast does that also show how many home runs the batter has on the season? I am asking because I don't see it there in your video. Is it because its a playoff game?Comment

I then simmed a season up to the Divisional Series and played game 3 of the Yankees/Twins series to get a feel of playoff atmosphere. The Minnesota crowd was in full force waving the Homer Hankees/Towels and it was pretty cool. Especially when Morneau hit a three run blast to right...

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
One cool thing I just noticed is that last year, night games at the end of the season and in the playoffs started in complete darkness, rather than dusk. In this game it's definitely dusk! I like that! Looks like they adjusted the time scales a bit, because even in October there is a bit of daylight when the night games begin.
Could be the fact that this is in Minnesota, so the time will be earlier since it usually goes by 8PM EST for playoff games. Where if it were at Yankee Stadium, it would be dark.
Great attention to detail there.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

I am a little bit OCD, and that is going to annoy me a lot. MOST players don't do that at all, let alone all of them.Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
Ok just returned from round 2. Where are you guys in the Twin Cities area? No one has challenged me for the controller yet. Anyway i am feeling even more positive about the game today than i was yesterday.
For all of your Atlanta Tomahawk Choppers, pay close attention to the first second or two of this short video, you will see your scoreboard going off after a HR...

So I played half of a game with Atlanta against the Mets. I finally figured out how to turn the RTP on this time around, and boy am I loving that! I saw Chipper foul a pitch off his foot, hop around, and toss the bat away. Then they showed me the "Show-Motion" Replay of the whole thing, very well done.
I then jumped into a replay of a HR, and noticed that they let the replay run a lot longer this year. The player got almost to third on his trot before the replay cut off. This will be nice for putting together video montages as i have more to work with.

Some notes from this game, I saw a variety of errors, both from my team and from the computer. Had a deep fly ball to Denard Span that he was within the circle to make the catch, however i wasn't ideally set and the ball glanced off his shoulder/glove/head and got behind him. I had another play where Jeter made a low throw to first, and instead of the ball just getting past the 1st baseman, he did the ole move, it hit off the tip off his glove and popped out, dribbling slowly up the first base line towards the outfield. Absolutely awesome sequence. I got to use the pitcher warmup sequence for the first time, pretty cool addition. I am sure i will think of more later.
Thanks for the vids!Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
You guys are killing me with all these amazing "I played it at best buy and it was awesome" quotes. I cannot for the life of me find a BB in the area that has one. Also, as I discussed in an older post, I am leaving for Afghanistan (as a civilian contractor, not Military) tomorrow, so I will miss the release. Wont get back until the 15th of March, but my lovely wife has been instructed to purchase said game and have it waiting for me at home.Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
I should have brought a chair with me. The Best Buy I was at was literally empty.
For any A's or Giants fans:
Andrew Bailey has his own delivery.
Trevor Cahill has his own delivery.
Brad Ziegler has his own delivery.
Jake Fox has his own stance.
Jonathan Sanchez has his own delivery.
Brian Wilson's delivery was updated.
Barry Zito's delivery was NOT updated.
Pablo Sandoval's stance was updated.
IMO, Pablo's head looks too big. I thought he looked better in 09.
Any player I did not mention either has a generic delivery/stance or was not updated.
All in all, like many people have said, the game is a lot more crisp.Last edited by TBRMKane; 02-25-2010, 07:56 PM.Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
Just played 5 innings at the San Carlos, CA BB that ended 2-2...it was fantastic (although the Sony tv it was playing on looked like crap)...
Giants at my A's (I am probably only 1 of several people excited to see what the Coliseum looked like)...Ben Sheets made 2 bad pitches - both to Aubrey Huff - he hit two solo moonshots...it made Huff look like a monster out there...
My 2 runs came in the first off of Lincecum...Coco Crisp led off with an awesome-looking slap through the left side of the infield...ball physics are amazing as I could see the ball slicing along the infield past a diving Sandoval...then Rajai Davis hit a soft liner to center that Rowand decided to dive for and missed..***n scored and triple for Davis...Suzuki then hit a grounder to first that was booted but Davis held at third...Cust then K'd (surprise, surprise) but the next play just looked amazing...Kouzmanoff hit a hard groundball up the middle that Freddy Sanchez tried to get by sliding onto a knee - Renteria went to cover second to go for the DP but it hit off of Sanchez's leg/glove and bounded into short left-center field...I wish I had a clip to show - it looked so perfect physics-wise and how the players reacted...after the play ended the RTP kicked in and showed Lincecum put his head down with hands on hips...
There was a homerun off the foul pole, a shattered bat on an inside Lincecum fastball, and the homeplate ump getting hit in the leg by a foul ball (he bent over in pain) all in a matter of 5 innings...
The best part was there were 4-5 people that came up to me saying how amazed they were with the game...one guy actually thought I was watching tv until he saw the controller in my hand...Tuesday can't get here soon enough...Comment
