Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
Am I the only one who can't hit a lick in this ****ing game ? lol.
I can't even get base hits.. its pathetic to watch.. trust me.
I want to like this game, because it's a beautiful game and I like how the franchise and such is, but It's hard for me to enjoy something I suck at.
Could someone please point me in the direction of some decent batting tips ?Comment

I'm with you on that AU. I try and try, but just end up whiffing on fastballs down the middle, not to mention any type of deceptive pitch. *shakes head* I know I'll eventually get better, but man, is it depressing, haha.Comment

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
Ok so I was thinking about this trade issue tonight at work and this is what I've come up with.
- No trades allowed until June 1st (as others have mentioned)
- Leave trades in the global setting set to auto
- Assign a profile to all 30 teams and set those profiles to manual until June 1st.
- On June 1st you look at the standings, teams rosters, etc and determine who are likely to be buyers and who will be sellers. You put the buyers profile on auto and leave the sellers profiles on manual.
My thinking here is the buyers will be initiating the trade talks. This should stop a team like Kansas City for example making a move for Albert Pujols. If I have Kansas City on manual and they have a player a buyer wants they can offer me a trade and I'll look it over and see if it's something I want to do. If I don't like the trade offer I can make a counter offer I'm thinking. This should cut into the amount of trades and limit amount of trading activity I would think. The only thing is buyers could trade with other buyers but if I cover my tracks, I can back and fix any of those moves I don't like.
I know this won't be for everyone because a lot of people just want to control one team and that's it but I figured I'd throw this out there and see if anyone else likes the idea and thinks it will work.Last edited by Braves Fan; 03-19-2010, 01:59 AM.Comment

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
Man, I was actually looking forward to simply approving/disapproving proposed trades. I even had Global trades set to Manual and my team set to Auto so that my team would propose trades and I'd still have to approve them before they went through.
Oh well. At least it fixed a bunch of stuff. So nice to no longer see those fly ball markers with auto-field on
I like the June 1st idea too, btw.Comment

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
I'm trying to keep up with the blitz of patch-related news. Do the fixes created in the patch eliminate the need for these workarounds? Apologies if this answer is lying somewhere obvious and I just didn't see it.Comment

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
i'm having a problem, it wasnt on the list on page one, so i dont know if anyone else has had this problem, but i had just completed the 2010 season in AA for the Angels (The Arkansas Travelers), during the off-season, i signed a one year $600,000 contract to be the 5th starter in AAA (Salt Lake Bees) and after spring training ended, (i didnt get an invite) I saved 3 days before the season started, and went to sleep (it was pretty late when i finished) next day after school, i go on OS and hear that the 2nd patch had been released, so i go on and download the patch (about an hour and 20 minutes later
) and i play franchise to see if it works (and it did, i'm so happy
, lol) so then i play rtts, and i load my pitcher (the one i was talking about) and i choose sim to my next appearance, so i sims 3 days to the first game and stops, it doesnt freeze, but the simming wont go any further, i can press cirlce and back out, and i can choose any other sim option, but the result is the same, i had 2 other rtts carrers as well, i loaded them up, and they worked just fine
but they were in the first few games or the second month of the season, so i dont know if that was it, but my pitchers one wont work, and i have spent the last week and a half or so pitching every game (with a perfect game and 201 strikeouts, a 19-1 record, and 190 some innnings pitched, so, i'm not exactly happy about this) and now i might have to start over, can someone help me with this?

My personal little workaround for the Tropicana field bug is to pretend it burned down and the Rays are magically playing all there home games at the classic stadiums.Comment

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
If only....Is anyone having trouble with the steal early not working in games with default baserunning? Its a good possibility that I'm doing something wrong but I've tried pointing the left stick at the runner and pressing the corresponding button to no avail. As well as many other combination's. Is there a trick to it or am I doing something wrong?Comment
