They hit-and-run and sac bunt without being told to.

I don't mind drag bunting on their own, and wouldn't mind stealing. Unfortunately it never seems to be a straight steal, but rather a hit-and-run, which should only be called from the dugout, as in real life.

If I don't hit select, I have no problem? I don't use the select button when I go to the bullpen. I use the up arrow on the pad to access the quick menu. I don't know what the select button even does in there admittedly. After the arrow, it's just a bunch of hitting x to click on things and scrolling around. What's the purpose of even using the select button? Besides ending warmup pitches for a reliever, I don't even know of any reason to use that button the entire game.
Based on what others are saying, there might be a freezing issue even when you don't press select. It's hard to say if you'll get lucky or not. I'd honestly advise against playing there whatsoever; just do the games at a neutral site.

          Knight,

I played a game last night in Manager Mode...I was in the field and had guys on second and third in the 8th inning with one out..I brought my infield in..when I did my team intentionally walked the guy at the plate. Has this happened to you yet? I may have hit the wrong button...it was late and I was tired...but I don't think I did

I never use the play ball button when I'm in the field......ESPECIALLY if it's a 3-4-5 batter up where the game is thinking it's best to go after the next guy.
Not a bug...but one of the things I want SCEA to get rid of in MoM.
Hopefully they add some specific pitch calls next year(like calling the game from the dugout) for the manager and this will be a thing of the past.
Right now(well I did for '09..I haven't got too much time in with '10 yet)...I use the specific locations or the quick key for pitch aggressive and it avoids the "play ball" intentional walk.

Ahhh ok...so with a base open they decided to walk him..I get it..so next time I need to bring the infield in and then choose a pitch strategy to go along with it? That isn't a big deal if that is the case. I tend to use "play ball" a lot when I am in the field except when I have runners on and a great hitter is up...then I get more involved...or say when AROD is up I like to hit the "brush back" option lol

Thanks again Knight..learn knew things every day which is why I am glad I am waiting to start a franchise(with your rosters of course)..I love the manager mode..just started a series with the Reds and got shut down by Harang in Game 1. Game 2 is tonight..Lester vs Volquez...Rolen killed me in Game 1

I brought Bard in and was going aggressive with him on guys but when he is up 0-2 I love to choose a location for him and it works real well..He had Bruce down 0-2 and I picked up and away and Bruce chases the high 99 MPH cheese...manager mode is such a fun way to play in my opinion..can't wait to get really into it come franchise time

I just played there and I didnt have a freeze issue at all. From what I gathered, the freeze comes when you view your bullpen by hitting the up button on the D-Pad. It was suggested to enter the bullpen by hitting start. I think if you hit the up arrow to view your bullpen or the opponents, some user suggest hitting the start button and then go immediately back into the game. I would avoid using the up arrow and simply access the bullpen using the start button at the Trop.

I know of the "select" button issue when at the Trop, but let me ask you guys this. I use that button to view pitch count and batter hot/cold zones. Is there another way to view this without hitting select?

Unfortunately knight i have used specific pitch location or aggressive and they still gave the intentional walk.Hopefully what you talked about calling the game from the dugout is included in 2011 show.Just for the record still love 10 just a few little things need work for MoM mode.for the other modes i cant speak since im strictly MoM.

Hey bro also a avid MoM player here. Also good for 0-2 counts i've been using pitch to batter which usually results in alot of K's or outs rarely hits.I agree though pitching to specific area's ahead in the count works well.I sometimes have trouble figuring out what to do to start the Ab.Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm not reading through this entire thread, but I just simmed a season without using the workaround and never had a problem with the computer trading any of my players. I got several trade offers and rejected them all except an offer I got a few days before the trade deadline.

I did notice that Pujols was traded for Brandon Webb, but it really doesn't bother me. There were a few all-star type players that got traded, but Pujols was the only superstar that got traded in my one season. I guess either people are exaggerating or I'm completely missing something.

The odds of me actually finishing this season are slim so potential ratings don't matter to me.
