You just have to accept/decline them for the other team.
All trades(that are initiated amongst the CPU teams)...must go through you.

I don't know why...but I now prefer it this way and actually hope this stays in some way(if patched)

Don't know if anyone's tested this yet, but want to at least check to see if my logic is sound...

I set GLOBAL Trading to Manual, and my team's Trading to AUTO. What I'm hoping to accomplish is for my team to initiate trades on its own, and I have to approve them. This should work, right?

The one flaw I'm trying to negate is that if I want to make a trade for my team, there's no checks and balances that keeps me from making an unfair deal. I figured having my club generate trade offers themselves would be an interesting approach.

            EXCELLENT idea!
Let me know how this works out.

I've added a RTTS workaround for SP and FB's ...and a couple or tips I found while using 30 team control.

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds

Hi guys. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong when it comes to the franchise work around. I've assigned my profile to my team and no profile for the other teams and changed what needs to be changed to manual or auto. My problem is that after doing this once I start my spring training, I don't have control of my team. Instead I get the Orioles. I think that I read earlier in this thread that I have to sim through ST. If this is true then will I have control of only the team I selected my profile to once the actual season begins, with the exception of trades for those other teams? If anyone has any input this would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to get halfway through a season only to find that most players were traded to teams where they don't belong.

Use the R2 button to go to your team screen.

You should actually have control of every team, yours included. From the menu, if you hit the L2 or R2 triggers, you scroll through the different teams.

About Spring Training, if you plan on adjusting every team's lineup to match real life, you will need to wait to do that until after Spring Training. Once the Reg Season starts, the CPU readjusts the lineups for every team (with some pretty awful results). What I did is just sim through ST, and before starting my Reg Season, went through each lineup and fixed it. Took about an hour, but it was worth it. I had to consult the Web for accurate lineups, but if you know them all by heart it will go by much faster.

Definitely let us know how that works..that sounds even better...going to test it out tonight by starting a Reds franchise...the real franchise with my Sox though starts the minute after Knight has his rosters ready :-)

Will do, and if you see that it does/doesn't work before me, let us know.

My fear is that trades will be done for my team without any ability to approve/disapprove them. I should be able to approve/disapprove based on my control of the team they are trading with, but we'll just have to see if it works. Can't think of any reason why it shouldn't.

Wow. Pretty simple fix, and to think of all the time i spent being frustrated and all I had to do was play with some buttons. Thanks a million guys.
                        I do have another question:
Will franchise rosters be updated along with game updates. What I mean is that when the game has an update that needs to be downloaded, if it applies to the rosters, will those rosters take effect in my franchise or do they apply to just the general exhibition rosters?
                        Thanks again.

No, you're stuck with the rosters that you started your franchise with.

Some advice though... go ahead and get started now and enjoy the game. Then a few days after Opening Day, Knight comes out with some amazing rosters that have every real-life minor league player created! It's freakin' awsome! So just have fun rolling through a season for the next month or so, and restart your "real" franchise as soon as Knight's rosters are out.

Right now I'm playing one game a series with the Cubbies (so two games per week) and playing a third game that week that intrigues me (e.g. Sox vs Yanks).

It would have to work because as you said it takes two teams to trade..I think it is a great workaround because no matter how many patches they come up with an AI is never going to be as smart as a human GM..so it is a great system regardless and if people are not sure they can post the trade in these forums and people can give their opinions...which makes for great debates...I plan on looking at the trades and asking what the motive would be for both teams to make the trade..if the motives make no sense than it wont go through...is a team trading a star for prospects because he is in the last year of his deal and they can't afford him? etc etc...but if a team 25 games out of first trades prospects at the deadline for a veteran who is in the final year of his deal you dont allow it because it makes no sense

I am also thinking about rejecting all trades that happen before mid June...because how many trades do you see before then? You might have a spring training trade or a trade just before Opening Day because of an injury but usually teams let it play out and then re-evaluate their needs as the deadline approaches

Also, after you adjust the lineups after spring training..do you then change the lineup function back to AUTO for all teams?

Sweet. So once Knight releases his roster will I have to enter those rosters in by individually reworking each team? Sounds fun but time consuming. I imagine it's worth it.
