Is there a way to set trades to manual in a fantasy draft franchise, without having to select all of the teams and make all of the picks for them? You're forced to make picks for each team that you select, so is there a way to select say the Yankees, go through with the draft making only your picks, end the draft and then set the other teams to either no profile and use global options or assign them a made up profile so that way you can control trades manually?

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
what's the difference in assigning dummy profiles as opposed to no profile in franchise? i would like the computer to still initiate trades, but i also don't want them to make outlandish ones. what would be the best way to get this result.Comment

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
That's just one...but if you want certain teams to have different options....you would need additional profiles.

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
here's what i did. before i started a franchise, i created 30 profiles, including my own. i set lineups and trades to manual for each overriding the global settings. now when i start a chise, i select all from the setup menu and the game correctly assigns each profile to it's respective team. so basically i have control of all 30 teams now. that's what SCEA wanted. i then proceed to sim ST, keeping each profile at manual for lineups and trades. i then set all proper lineups and rotations for each team. then save. this is where i am unsure what to do next. once i start the season, should i put back trades and lineups back to auto for all those profiles i created. i would think definitely for lineups because the computer will start changing them again. but wouldn't this mean the same lineup all the time. thanks for your feedback.Comment

What's needed (and I'm not the one to do it!):
A stickied thread that lays out how to set up the various options people might want for season/franchise:
-completely mimic what happens in real life;
-control one team, able to set lineups for other teams but they can make their own trades;
-control one team, able to set lineups for other teams and you can veto other team trades......
etc etc[Insert clever, personally-relevant, or cutting-edge remark, data, link, or picture]Comment

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
So bottom line with any of the available work arounds, theres no way of controlling only my teams transactions (draft, FA)? I can't set it to auto for the computer and deal with their own.. and not have the trade, injury, callup bugs?Mariners Seahawks Sonics UW Sounders

You have to sim all the other games before you play your game man. Just click on the day and select "View todays games" then sim games you aren't going to play. Then you'll get the scoreboardsJoshua:

I am wanting to do option 1 (exactly replicate real life transactions)when the OS Rosters come and to be honest I am so confused. If this can be done I won't have to wait til the patch. Last year I just did CPU Roster Control On and it worked out great, this year not sure how to go about it. Thanks in advance!Comment

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
I think I finally get it but to be clear when you set all the trades to manual teams are still offering trades? That would be cool to look through all the different offers and decide which ones make sense...I thought though if you set Global trades to manual with no profile that there would be no trades at allComment

Knight,

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
This is a good question. I was wondering that too. If you read the description of this setting it says that if you set it to manual, then you will be responsible for initiating and accepting team trades. I have it set to manual but would like the CPU to initiate trades for the other teams I don't play with.
You just have to accept/decline them for the other team.
All trades(that are initiated amongst the CPU teams)...must go through you.
