    After ST?
It has to be after ST...
..and it has to be manual not for your profile but for either the GLOBAL options(if you're using NO PROFILE for the CPU teams) or each individual profile(or any profile) set for a team you want to be "CPU".
    I just tested....it works.

Yeah its a annoying bug/cpu error where all of the lineups are ruined after ST. I think it has to do with players getting sent down after ST. This is with lineup on manual in global options.

          Yes..after ST
30 teams...yours....your profile...the others NO PROFILE...GLOBAL OPTIONS...you can have everything to auto except trades....(and if you want to fix lineups...that too)

              You're welcome

Just so you know.....you have to choose 30 teams at the START of a franchise.
The after ST is the lineups.

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds

Okay, I know you said the double switch was fixed with the first patch, but mine will still not let me do it. It will not let me switch the pitchers position with the person I am taking out.

I used Bobby Scales to pinch hit for the pitcher. I decided to leave him in to play SS for Theriot, but it will not let me switch Scales and Theriot's positions. So, I have to replace Scales with a pitcher, and lose him for the game.

EDIT: Never mind, I got it. For some reason I didn't understand what you guys were saying in this thread, but I found another thread that explained it a little better.

One thing is, the double switch doesn't actually happen automatically this way though. I didn't realize it the first time, and ended up throwing a pitch with my RFer, and gave up a double (which lead to a go ahead run in a tie game ). THEn the manager came out to make the switch.

The next time I did it, I made the mistake of going into a mound visit, thinking I would cancel out, and the manager would make the switch. At this point, my manager came out and made the double switch (instead of a mound visit, though the mound visit graphics came up), everything went okay, but now my game froze before I could throw my warm up tosses. I suppose next time I just hit pause, then go back to the game.

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds

I'm rolling along with my Cubs Franchise, but I actually decided to go with Season Mode rather than Franchise Mode. I know you don't get the Minor League teams, but they are all fake players anyway (until Knight's roster comes out, that is).

I'm a stickler for realistic lineups, and I'm finding it very manageable when you just have to worry about the MLB teams. If someone gets injured, just jump in and fix it; the CPU "calls up" a replacement player for you automatically. Not sure yet if you will get an alert saying when the injured player is off the DL, but hopefully you do and then you just go back and fix the lineup again. I thought it would be tedious, but it's actually pretty fun.

                  Couple of questions:

                  * Do you think playing Season Mode rather than Franchise Mode may alleviate some of the weird trading logic? Rather than each team having a boatload of A-potential prospects, you only have 15 guys on your Inactive Roster. So the CPU can't throw three A-potential prospects at the Cardinals for Alburt Pujols, for example.

                  * When the CPU gives an everyday player a rest and subs in a bench guy, do the lineups get all messed up again?

Thanks. I'm early in my Season, so I haven't seen any of this yet.

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds

Thanks for this thread Knight. This is all so discouraging... I don't know how an A+ title like The Show ships with so many franchise and system glitches. These things worked last year, if I remember correctly, and it's not like the game had any incredible changes to it... If they rebuilt the engine, or totally made a huge new mode, it'd be one thing for some glitches to appear... but this years game has really been more or less a tune-up from The Show '09, except somehow, things that always worked fine, are now fubar.

I usually can't wait to start a franchise, but the idea of having to manage the rosters for 30 teams, and go through all of their organizations to make sure the depth charts and lineups are correct, or else the game will freeze, is too much.

Is it possible to disable all trading?

Id rather do that , then manage all 30 team's transactions and lineups.

Otherwise, I guess I will have to wait for the patch

i am little confused on this. when you sim ST, do i then set trades and lineups to manual or auto for all other profiles or just for global. i created one for every team.

This is what i took from this thread:

You take control of all 30 teams
You set your profile to your team
The rest of the teams (29 of them) are set to No profile

Hit start to advance to the next screen

In GLOBAL OPTIONS --> Set everything the Auto except for Trade and Lineup (These become manual)

Hit R1 and you adjust the settings for your profile to your liking

I would think you do this at the start of your franchise and then just sim ST if you want.

Let me know if this is on the right track.

Not really. With trades on manual they will still propose them but you have the final say on whether or not they go through. Im not aware of anyway to completely stop trades from even being proposed though.

Yeah, it's during the season. I have manual set on the dummy profile i'm using for the other 29 teams. I'm playing as the Twins and i edited for the angels and white sox (first two series of the year) and the cpu changed the lineup all around. For what it's worth both teams had injuries and maybe that's why it changed the entire lineup.

It should have prompted you to fix the lineup if you have it to manual.....regardless of injury.
Just leave it NO PROFILE...change the GLOBAL to manual and see what happens.
