Brignac from TB is cheap and can play SS and 2B, plus he is a lefty....only downside is he hits lefties terribly.

this is incredibly hard for me to do.
but in this game i just cannot hit with jose reyes for the life of me.
i went through every team to see what i could get for jose and i liked 3 of my options:
      1. jose to atlanta for escobar, jurrjens and moylan(seems they give these guys out in every franchise)
      2. jose to arizona for edwin jackson, stephen drew, and chad qualls
      3. jose to angels for maicer izturis, scott kazmir(which would be justice) and kevin jepsen

i'm leaning towards the angels deal to get jose out of the national league, plus izturis really has the same hitting stats, he's just not as fast.
the atlanta deal is temping but i don't really want him in-division..
and the arizona deal is cool but i don't really want him in the national league haha.
what deal do you think i should pull the trigger on, if any?

The White Sox must really love me because they will trade me straight up Mark Ellis for Gordon Beckham. I can kind of see the logic in that the White Sox want to win now and Ellis is putting up slightly better power numbers and is better defense, but is also on the wrong side of 30 and Beckham is a player to build a franchise around. I thought about pulling the trigger, but I want to go a bit of a different route by letting Ellis walk and having Pennington and Green battle it out defensively for SS and let the loser take 2B.

I'm pretty bad swinging the bat with Ellis for some odd reason and lefty doesn't play a role because I kill lots of at bats with Kouzmanoff. I wouldn't trade Mark Ellis just yet tho.

Ellis has a terrible average for me, but with 11 home runs I don't really care. I just want him to play good D and come through with a few timely hits every now and then. The problem is his defense. He has more errors for me than he has had in last five years combined. I even cranked his defense up to 85 or 90 (cant remember for sure).

How many seasons have you played in your franchise because I believe he's around 26 in real life if I'm not mistaken. Maybe he's declining now.

I am still in my first season. Ellis will be 33 this June. I think you are confusing him with Pennington, who will be 26 this June as well. Besides Chavez, no one has been with the team longer than Ellis

I am thinking about dumping Cust and Gaudin on the Red Sox for 1B Lars Anderson. The interest bar looks pretty good. This gives me a possible future 1B as well as dumping about $3 mil in salary. Anderson was also born in Oakland so that would be kind of cool. Boston could use a power DH after dumping Ortiz onto the Giants. I just don't want Cust to burn me later on in the season or in the playoffs if we make it that far. Any opinions?

I don't know where I got that from lol, I could of swore that they said he turns 26 this season on the 30 clubs in 30 days. That is true tho Eric Chavez has been there the longest from what I remember. I started paying attention to baseball during 05 and been an A's fan ever since but I'm getting rusty when it comes to following players. All the players I remember watching have been traded away.

                        More Trades:

7-7 Angels trade SP Scot Shields to the Phillies for SP Phillippe Aumont

7-9 Royals trade SP Brian Bannister to the Yankees for LF Brett Gardner and CF Aaron Hicks - The Yankees were a little too quick to dump Petite and Burnett, as they have made a fast play for the division but are now short on good pitchers. I like when bad trades come back to bite teams, especially the Yankees

7-13 Rangers trade SP C.J. Wilson, RP Dustin Nippert and 1B Justin Smoak to the Rays for SS Reid Brignac and SP Jeremy Hellickson

7-16 Cubs trade CF Brett Jackson and RP Jeff Samardzija to the Angels for RP Fernando Rodney, SP Tyler Skaggs and SP Pat Corbin

More trades in my Houston Franchise:

                          6/10- Braves trade (SS)D.Hernandez and (SP)Brian Minor to the A's for (SP)B.Sheets.

Currently T.Hudson and J.Jurrjens are both on the 15 day DL and K.Kawakami is 2-7 with an ERA above 7. Atlanta is only 3 games out in the division so, Ben could be a huge acquisition for them, although he's also a costly one (1 yr 14M).

As for Oakland, they have the worst record in the league and are currently the only team in my franchise that's in "rebuilding mode". They traded away the best pitcher (statically in my franchise) for a 25 year old Shortstop (1 yr 60k) and 22 year old SP (2 yr 790k) both with A potential. Hernandez will start his stint with the A's in AAA. While Minor will get to make an immediate impact on the MLB club as the teams Long Relief Pitcher.

6/12- Cubs trade (SP) T.Lily to The Rockies in exchange for (RF) B.Hawpe and (SP) Samuel Deduno

This trade slipped through the cracks but, I can kind of see the logic behind it.
Chicago is currently in 1st place in the NL Central and was looking to improve their offence. Although, the move to acquire Hawpe pushes Nady to the bench plus, Fukudome is on the bench as well. Both players are having decent season's so, perhaps this isn't the last we've heard from Chicago this season.
The other player Chicago picked up in this trade was Samuel Deduno. Deduno is a 27 yr old, left handed pitcher who looks to be a nice addition to the AAA team and perhaps as soild starter for the MLB club in the future as he has A potential.

Colorado had already made on trade this season and picked up Mike Lowell from Boston so, they we're loaded (especially in the OF with C.Gonzales, S.Smith, R.Spilborghs and D.Fowler). They also could use an extra starting pitcher so, picking up a solid left hand pitcher definitely makes sense.

After trading away Sheets, I am considering grabbing up Guthrie from the Orioles. I can get him for pretty cheap. I don't want to screw the Orioles, but I also don't want to over pay. What I would like to know from Orioles players is how good Guthrie is on this game. On top of that, what would make for a good trade. They will accept any of the following: Cahill, Mazzaro, Fox, Powell, or any two of my A or B potential prospects in AA. I think I will keep both Cahill and Maz, but Fox is listed as a catcher and can also play third. That might be a big boost in power if they can't or don't want to re-sign Miggy. Powell is a good backup catcher for Weiters and can play 1st as well. Any thoughts?

                              Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**

I have a single team Detroit Tigers franchise. Through about 30 games I was a few games over .500 and I made this trade:

Detroit Tigers trade OF Ryan Raburn and 1B Jeff Larish to the Red Sox.
Boston Red Sox trade 3B Adrian Beltre to the Tigers.

Is this a fair trade? Apparently, Lowell beat Beltre in spring training for the 3B job so Beltre wasn't getting much playing time, only about 40 AB. Raburn was my starting RF since Magglio was injured and he had hit 5 HR at that point and Larish probably will never be a good MLB player but he was tearing up Triple A hitting.

I am also thinking about making this trade, does it seem fair?

Detroit Tigers trade CP Daniel Schlereth to the Rockies.
Colorado Rockies trade C Chris Ianetta to the Tigers.

I'm 23-19 right now and my bullpen is young and rock solid so I don't need a relief prospect like Schlereth, who has A potential. The Rockies haven't put much faith in Ianetta in real life so why not trade for him, my catchers can't hit a beach ball.
