Thanks for providing this information. It's disappointing that retractable roofs didn't get addressed this year, and it's also a bit surprising since rain is now in the game. There are currently five ballparks with a retractable roof, and a sixth is set to open in 2012. That's not an insignificant number. Hopefully by next year users will at least get a pre-game option of playing with a roof open or closed, if in-game or weather-related closing is too difficult to code.

I think these guys can do retractable roofs but my guess is that the whole time issue is probably preventing it right now. I am assuming here of course, because I know absolutely nothing about developing a game but those 5 or 6 fields that you mentioned would have to have a complete overhaul in lighting when the roofs are closed. And I would also guess that lighting up one of these stadiums has to be one of the most time consuming things to a developer...just a guess though. We do a lot of renderings in my line of work and lighting is always the biggest pain in the arse!

They can definitely do them, the only problem is time. It takes almost 3 months to just model from start to finish one stadium. They also can not just paste a roof on an existing stadium and call it "done".

It needs to be built from the ground up, lit (with two different lighting models, day and night), textured, etc. I have a feeling they will eventually be in the game though, just when is the question.

Wow, I was never really into RttS due to getting frustrated with the goals of each game but with this new redesign of this part of the game I will surely give it a run. Really like all the stats you will be able to see from your player.

They have changed the Cubs helmets, I know someone answered that for me a few days back. Not sure about the Rockies though.

I notified them about the Cubs helmets, so they should be correct.

Nobody mentioned the Rockies on here as far as I could tell last week, so I did not think to check.

They will have it done for the 2013 or '14 season...

mind you thats just my rough and random estimate..... If its done earlier than that i'll be surprised..though im sure its not at the top of their to do list but its probably high up there....

I really don't see why the change either, but I kinda like it.

Everything is looking amazing. Since I am skipping this year as the Twins are doing a lot of renovations and the game will be that much more amazing next year I can hardly wait to see what thy can do in one more year. I am definitely making sure any stadium material they need is in the Twins section and I am curious to see what they got in this year. I give this one more year and I am honestly not sure what these guys can do with the PS3 that will improve things. They could really nail down character personalities and such I am sure you could spend years doing that. But I think 12 is really going to be the year everything comes together like nothing before.

For 11 I cannot believe the lighting model and improved stadium signs and screens. It really really does help the feel of the game. Maybe they can do more cosmetic tiny things like trees, gear, animations, etc. And pitch F/X for pitchers would be nice for 12. I can see a lot of things getting their proper refinement for 12. Anyway, it all looks great. I will be crapping myself when I play 12. Taking a break does have it advantages. Lots of surprises in store when you wait 2 years. Hope franchise is getting love for next year as well. Great work guys thanks for listening we know it's tough with all the criticism and we know it's beyond tough to nail down all these teams.

I have a problem with the "cancel throw" option. It just doesn't seem realistic to cancel your throw based on the meters feedback showing that its going to be bad. The only time this would really make sense in real life is if you relate it to a player not getting a good grip on the ball. Most players don't have a cancel button based on the fact they know its going to be an error.

Of course this could all be for naught, if we can turn off the feedback?

So police yourself and don't cancel it! Problem solved! There were many times at the event I let it play out. Even though it is possible to do it it is not necessarily easy to pull off. Also, if you cancel and try again the chances of getting the runner are extremely slim.
