In my opinion batting stances are always changing, so I really don't care about them and do get a chuckle when some one says the stance is perfect and then some other guys says that stance is off.

So true. As long as it is close no biggie to me. Plus there are hundreds of options to find one close in game.

Except if I were to change, I might lose a signature HR trot. This could(and will) go back and forth forever. Chris and co. have to allocate their time wisely among all things animation, not just stances, so they will never get any attacks on my end. It just frustrates when you have a guy like Pujols, who has seen no love in years. Thankfully it has been addressed and we move on to the next set of stance complaints

I really don't care if the player's stance is off as long as the mannerisms are the same. Especially since Khalil Greene came in the league, it's nice to have a bunch of stances, but it's not worth it to worry about every detail of it.

Yankees require everyone on the team to have professional haircuts and no facial hair with the exception of mustaches. So it will be gone by spring training.

Do the Yankees still have the 7ft tall bearded first base coach, he just seems so out of place on the Yankee team.

Awesome that the ticker goes deep like that.

I remember compiling a thread last year talking bout immersion in ur franchise with the ticker. having things like UPDATE*** Reports Say Ortiz Signed To One Year 5.Ml Dollar deal & "Halladay has just thrown a no-hitter".
So to see they did add things somewhat like that is really cool.

Its amazing what fielding, stats, and a new coat of visual paint can do to make u forget minimal franchise changes!


as far as the newspapers, i guess its cool, very baseball. I mean, if there was any sport still today that lends itself best to and old school form like the old 'black and white and read all over', its baseball.
Nothing like reading a box score over breakfast the next morning.

now about those box scores....

I am hoping we will see an expanded boxscore with pitch counts in 12.

Will players have their team uniform on in the roster edit screen, or the generic MLB uni that we've seen in years past?

From the edit roster on the main menu of the game it is still the generic MLB uni. I never went into the roster edit within franchise.

Another question. When batters walk up and they show previous year's stats, they show that a player was tied for 2nd in NL, a career high, etc...

Will those things be implemented and dynamic in franchise mode? Say Pujols leads the majors in homeruns in year 1 of my franchise, in year 2, will they make reference to that?

Good question... and one thing that The Show lacks IMO. Stats are a HUGE part of baseball and having stats update dynamically season after season as well as having the overlays in Play Now mode incorporated in Franchise mode are two things that need to be added.

Someone else mentioned OBP replacing SB's in the walk up screen and I completely agree. You'll typically have 1 to 2 guys on a team that will steal a lot of bases, OBP obviously tells a far greater story.

To answer your question.... Both of them have very unique stances in real life that no one really duplicated last year

They just need to add a Create a Batting Stance option next year to shut us stance whores up :wink:

Well...I was looking and answering on my phone...and I actually meant to say Kemp and Co.
But....you're helping my case....I couldn't see his FACE....so I had no idea who he was...I certainly couldn't tell from his stance(in either pic).
While I don't begrudge anyone getting stances in the game....the argument that they are more important or prevalent than faces...OR to suggest that Chris...who is ALWAYS in his office working on stances(and the fact that the new player models forced the animation guys to work TRIPLE time to get them looking good with the new models...ALL the animations had to be reworked....so they might have been a TAD busy) isn't putting enough time in is farcical.


I don't mean to single you out DF....but you seem to be harping more than most in every thread you can.
Just curious....have we seen Kemp and Ethier yet in '11?

Has the 1st and 3rd double steal been addressed? I think it may have more to do with the catcher tagging too slow. Any 1st and 3rd situation results in a run. Has anyone else run into this?
