Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

I am tearing it up in AAA now that I got called up.

    I am hitting over .400 and have 4 HR's and 15 RBI's in just 12 games.

I started getting cold in my last RTTS game with 3 strikeouts, then I hit a 2 Run HR in the 9th inning to salvage an awful day at the plate.

It is amazing how a game can frustrate the hell out of me 1 minute then make me jump off the couch in joy the next.

Hey guys quick question. I'm playing for the Reds in AA (first season, May) after being traded from the Red Sox. I'm currently .347, 1 HR, 21 RBI. When I look at the the 'league leaders' screen to compare me with others in the league I'm not in the Batting Average list? With a BA of .347 I should be 4th? Funny thing is I am shown in the RBI list????

It does say in the batting average list 'To qualify as a league leader, a batter must have 3.1 plate appearances per team games played'. I've been a starter pretty much since day one and would say I get 3 plate appearances per game, how can I find out if I qualify? Is there a stat somewhere???

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I just finished my first season in RTTS, I am a power hitting CF in the Braves organization. By the middle of the year I was starting CF with a .330 average or so, 4 hrs, 35 or so RBI's. I get injured and put on the 60 day dl. So that ends my season. After simming the offseason, I get offered a 2 yr deal with AAA as a bench player, I take it. A few days before the season starts, I get demoted back to AA for no reason. I guess I will have to tear it up in AA again. Also every time I have tried to ask for a position change or trade, they have denied. I think the Braves organization hates me.

It was the same for me in AA, I was basically the triple crown winner in that league, but because they randomly sit you out games, you don't get enough at bats. I was like 20 AB's short of qualifying.

How can I work out how many AB's I'm short by?

Just sort the list of league leaders by AB's and then see how many your are short by.

Hey guys, a little help please. My friend says he refuses to buy The Show because he said the RTTS player movement mechanics are messed up. In real life he is left handed, so when he creates himself he can only be 1B or Outfield without feeling weird, so he chose outfield. He says that whenever a ball is hit to him in the air, his RTTS player ALWAYS takes two steps in, instead of the CORRECT action and that is to take a step or two BACKWARDS. Is this the case with everyone else who has an outfielder RTTS? (He rented it from GameFly because he didn't have the money to buy it at the time)

I'm an RTTS CF who throws LH and I'm not noticing anything in the game I myself wouldn't do. It also depends on how well you line up on the indicator on the field. Sometimes I'm off a bit so my catch and throw movement is off. But, when I'm perfect (which doesn't happen often since my attributes are so low) it looks great.

I think when he perfects the system and raises his attributes for fielding and throwing, he'll notice more realisim. I'm in my 4th year with okay attributes for fielding and my throwing and catching movements seem normal, like how I would do it.

please bear with me guys, i am losing my MIND with this game. anyone please feel free to chime in....

i am NOT accusing SCEA of any kind of comeback code, but i am experiencing a huge amount of frustration with RTTS mode. heres the scoop...

so my guy is maxed out in every category exp bunting abilities. so we are talking about a serious mega star. age 28. yes, i bought points. LOL. thats another convo..

so if i sim, my guy continually hits about .250, no HRS, no RBIS. i shouldnt say none, but very very slim amounts. maybe 1 HR per 10 games.

when i play, i get nothing but off speed out of the zone pitches. thats it. i cant drive anything. im getting constant bouncers back to the pitcher and line drives right at people. its like the cpu doesnt want me to mash.

i am a vet of the series, i can hit just fine. this is however my first time playing RTTS. i have noticed this trend after about my 4th year or so, my stats are RAPIDLY dwindling year after year, yet my attributes are maxed.

anyone have .02 cents to spare?

That should help with young prospects ending up in FA. I'm not sure why it doesn't show up in the patch fix.
They didn't add anything solving the Franchise and RTTS 2013 or in this case 2014 glitch. They actually thought they already had it fixed because they spent weeks before the launch touching up this logic and didn't see any flaws. Here is Russles post on the issue from the patch thread.

Answering a question regarding 2013/14 glictch of weird offseason aquisitions and unrealistic changes.

The answer is we don't know, in the last couple of weeks before code lock Kolbe and Jeff stayed in the studio until 5am for about a week straight working on trade logic, budget logic, and waiver logic. When they finished I personally ran at leat 20 different franchise sims looking for the 2013 issue it never once popped up. Not one single time did the free agent pool look off.

The answer to the bold part is yes and no there are two fixes we have in the que for another patch those are. The contract issue for Free Agents when after the 5 day exclusive period the contract would be removed. And the trades in May issue.

We will continue to investigate the other problems in franchise if its feasible and it can be patched without breaking something else of course we are going to fix it. Some things may take wholesale re-writes. Hope this answers your question.

I'm going to test out this theory tonight and sim to 2014 and see what the offseason looks like multiple times to see if it's just something that happens randomly.

Yeah. You're incredibly good and the CPU is pitching around you. Barry Bonds treatment, my man. He got like one-two pitches a game to drive and that was usually a mistake.

Got called up the Giants. Was a good feeling but my dude does not have the stats and i am not good enough with low stats lol. Just can't get solid contact in the big leagues. I will probably drop back down to AAA and build my attributes some more. Might focus more on contact. My contact is at 66 and my R Power is at 55 and L power at 48.

I had a similar problem, check your players email. I got demoted for stealing when I wasnt supposed to be.

                                RTTS Outfielder Idea

Didn't exactly know where to put this so I just put it in the regular forum, but next year for outfielders I think the camera should be very low and looking up to the sky so it actually takes some skill to play by reading the fly balls and not just running to a marker on the field. Any thoughts?
