    Re: RTTS: Your pitchers pitches

I ask because I was looking at some attributes and caught that AJ Burnett's has much more arm strength than Freddy Garcia, which I could see IRL. Burnett's fastball is at least 8 MPH higher than Garcia's.

Also does the disparity between your RTTS pitcher's fastball velocity and changeup velocity affect your fastball velocity. Right now, I have my fastball up to like a 79 rating in velocity, but I haven't done much for my changeup velocity, but I'm not hitting 90 regularly. I remember when editing players in franchise that a 79-rated fastball was pretty fast.

      Re: RTTS: Your pitchers pitches

In my second year have maxed out speed on all my pitches except 5th, the curveball. I just got called up to the majors at the end of August then finally in rotation in sept as an ace starter. Sadly the Braves are in dead last with an 8th ranking overall, our pitching has been subpar the whole year.

      1 - 4 seam fastball
      2 - cutter
      3 - running fastball
      4 - change up
      5 - 12-6 curve

I normally do 4 seam, sinker, slider and change but the cutter once the movement is maxed, moves a ton in the same direction as a slider anyways. I always use submarine type pitching armslot, works for me.

A lot of the times I can get a strikeout with a low change up, at the batters shins, hitter swings and misses over the top. Or if they almost have my fastballs timed, I can throw the change up pretty much anywhere even down the middle and they'll swing way too early. Then there's my curevball which if they don't offer at it, I just throw another then they usually swing and miss if I throw it below the knees. Other times I just throw any of my fastballs outside or inside off the plate they will swing and miss. I average about 9 to 10 strikeouts a game too. At one point I made 950+ points in back to back games with 2 consecutive 9 inning shutouts in a row with 12+ strikeouts, in AAA though.

With the cutter and RFB, they have the opposite movement but same speed so I can always back door a lefty or righty, or let em swing at either pitch as they trail out of the strike zone. Then I have my 100 mph 4 seamer that can eat them up too. That along with a 88 mph change up and 78 mph nasty curve I get a lot of swinging strikeouts and with the control analog pitching provides a lot of called strike 3's. It's a lot of fun.

so I just noticed something for the first time in RTTS... do offensive goals change if you are injured? I had a 1 day injury and my goals went from over the next 6 series get 18 or more RBI's to 4 or more RBI's

Wow sometimes I don't understand the AI in this game. Actually make that all the time. I just finished season 2, I have high stats/ratings, pretty much one of the top 5 pitchers in the mlb, I'm the staff ace for the braves. At the end of the year I sign a 1 year deal with the braves for like 6.6 mil. Then they friggin trade me to the giants for sanchez who doesn't even compare to me stats wise or ratings wise.

My scouting reports says I'm the best in the league basically and sanchez is just a pretty good pitcher. The sad and disrespectful thing is they trade me for him straight up!! He's only making like 2 mil less than me. Wow.. Hes 30 years old and will only get worse and I'm 20 and already a stud pitcher. Unbelievable.

I already reloaded an earlier save before the the offseason starts but man I might just wait it out then either sign with them or join the phillies whom I hate just to spite them for disrespecting me! In my first season I had low ratings and high stats and had to basically tank games just so they would stop trading me.

The braves are my favorite team but man they are starting to piss me off. The funny thing is they need good SP really badly in my rtts. I looked at their rotation afterwards and it didn't even include tommy hanson or JJ lol. They finished dead last in my 2nd season too because the pitching and defense was terrible.

I created a contact-hitting 2B and its paid off. He is getting all-types of gap hits, including 2 HR (one was ITP).

BR Aggressiveness is how aggressive he is running around the bases. so taking 2nd base with an aggressive try (so can get to 3rd better) would be something like that.

Im currently in season 1 of my RTTS Center Fielder. I was originally drafted by the Dodgers and spent about a month with the AA club Chattanooga until I was traded to the Rays for SP James Shields and a Relief Pitcher. Seemed like a one sided trade since they got James Shields but I guess it was because of my potential A factor. I am currently 3 games away from the AA all-star break (mid-june) and here is my numbers:

                    .425 avg, .675 slug, 7 HR, 51 RBI, 41 runs, 101 hits, 20+ 2B, 4 3B, 8SB

I am having a lot of fun with this mode and hopefully I will get called up to AAA Durham soon.

I am a starting pitcher for the Omaha Storm Chasers (Kansas City AAA team). I'm kind of annoyed with my advancement goals right now. The Royals are in the AL and therefore use the DH, as do their minor league affiliates. So why did I just have to use ~120 training points to increase my bunting ability?

I'm amazed at how quickly some of you are getting shots at the MLB level. Some in the first year??

My guy was a September call up at the end of year 3, despite putting up pretty good numbers at the AA and AAA levels.

                          - Played full first season at AA.
                          - Played 3/4 of season 2 at AA, making AA all star team, then finished up the year at AAA.
                          - Played full 3rd season at AAA, got called up to MLB after AAA season ended.

Put up .300+ BA at each stop until MLB, only decent power #'s (my player is a speedy CF, good in the field, good on the bases, decent power-type guy.) Of course, after starting season 4 as a starter at MLB level for the O's, got hurt in the 4th game and was out for 65 games. After coming back, was back and forth between starter and bench, never really rebounding from the injury very well. Finished the year pretty strong, and am now off to a good start in season 5.

But yeah, basically it took me until season 4 to earn the starting spot at MLB, and then took me until roughly the last month of season 4 to start putting up good numbers in MLB. Kudos to those of you who are making it to the Show, and putting up good MLB #'s, in season 2 or so!

Started up a RttS last night, first time playing this mode in all the years I've played this series, mostly because I never envisioned myself having much fun with any of these "My Player" modes.

I made a 6'3" LHP with a running fastball, circle-change and 12-6 curve. Power pitcher with more movement than control and a dominant pitch. I got called up to Tripe-A on June 10th, 2011, seemed a little quick to me but I guess I had nothing left to prove at the Double-A level.

                            Stats so far.

                            AA: 18 GP, 7 GS, 7 QS, 5-2, 1.91 ERA, 1 HLD

Yeah, I saw the same thing too. Good thing for me too, because I had already made the lowered numbers when I got hurt, because I was on the DL when the advancement period ended.

In weekend play, my SP is in late August, his last start took a 3-hit shutout into the 9th inning, and was yanked after he gave up a leadoff single (score was 2-0). I was hoping to finish it for the shutout, but I was gassed already - was pitching in the 8th with 0 energy. Finished with 113 pitches, 5 strikeouts. And the bullpen held it for me, for my 5th win in AAA. That gave the last QS I needed for that advancement period too. Good thing too, the bullpen blew my last QS - left the game with 3 earnies and a runner on, and the bullpen let that guy score to screw the QS. As least I didn't get tagged with the loss.

My CP is on the verge of getting traded. I have a save in mid-July, and even after reloading it 4 times, I get traded the next day to the Jays. I'm going to try a few more reloads before giving up, hopefully it isn't already locked in.

And my CF is still overmatched in AAA in mid-July (he was called up early as an injury replacement). Can't seem to get anything going with him, he's still hitting under .200, but they won't send me back down. Made 3 out of 4 goals last time though, so maybe that's why. I'm only going to make 2 of 4 this next time, unless he can suddenly catch fire. I can't figure out why I'm struggling with him. And I can't figure out why they won't send me down, there are two CF better than him at AA.

Out of nowhere my CF finally started stealing up to his attributes. Out of nowhere just started running like a madman in mid-August. Led the league with 92 stolen bases, Gardner was 2nd with 71. Also won the batting title and led league in hits and runs. Nice! Playoffs here we come.
