Sony's plan to force gamers on to a pay service seems to be working. Lock the Franchise file on MLB and lock the GT5 file, oops, we have to unlock that one because PSN's cloud service is not ready yet. You know, all of those great free PSN features are not free. You are paying money for them and when you stop, you own nothing.

Sony needs to get its head straight and do what is best for gamers or lose business. They already lost mine until this issue gets fixed.

So is this fixed with the latest update? Enabling users to share/semi-online franchise?
      Thanks,

For the most part yes. However, some people are having issues with not being able to save previously created franchise files. See:

Re: No Copying of Saved Game Files Kills Me...

I'm sorry to resurrect an old thread on a topic that's probably not relevant, but I have a question for people who have transferred save files.

I think save files for MLB 11 were protected initially (i.e., can only be used on a PS3 on which the save was first made), but due to the unpopularity, SCEA eventually removed the protection, meaning you can transfer save files to any other PS3, even for a different user. (I hope this understanding is correct.)

My question is this: Save files for the Show are generally not protected, and can be transferred to any PS3 and for any user... is this correct?

I'm in need of transferring from one PS3 to another, and since backing up/transferring the whole thing on the disk via officially recommended methods (by Sony) isn't an option for me, I'm thinking of just saving game save files onto a USB stick, and load them onto a new one later. Just wish to make sure save files can be transferred across different PS3 this way.

          Thank you in advance.

I haven't had any problems moving and using files from myself or any other user from game to game in '12.
            Franchise or roster.
There was a time when you had to overwrite one of YOUR save files with one from another user if you wanted to use it....but that's not the case any longer.

Re: No Copying of Saved Game Files Kills Me...

I searched this thread but didnt see anything about using the PS3/Vita built in cloud storage for franchises, but it works great with me and my buddy so I will post it here.

First make a new PSN account and have you and your brother(or whoever else) have it on both ps3's. A shared PSN account ill call it.

Then start a franchise, play whatever amount you want and then save to the ps3(as a backup) and then go to UPLOAD TO CLOUD. As long as you are signed into that shared PSN account you are able to download this franchise save.

So if u play, upload to cloud, and then your brother wants to play all he has to do is sign into that shared psn account, go to franchise and go to load from cloud. You do not need PS+ for this as neither me or my friend have it and it works perfectly. Its not exactly a online franchise but it is pretty close to it. I also imagine you could have more than 2 people do this as well if you wanted.

So if I bought a new ps3 how would I be able to keep playing my franchise. Do you have to save it to a memory stick?
