Re: No Copying of Saved Game Files Kills Me...
Wait! Does this only pertain to "franchise" file saves & not regular roster saves like with Knight's Full Minor League set?
I know that I was able to copy offline roster saves with MLB 10 The Show to the PS3. I sure hope this hasn't changed. I didn't read all the replies in this thread and thought I go ahead and ask about this. Thanks!NCAA- GO VOLS
NBA- GO CELTICS
MLB- GO BRAVES
NFL- GO COWBOYS
NHL- GO PREDATORS
NASCAR- Chase Elliott
MLS- LA Galaxy

Re: No Copying of Saved Game Files Kills Me...
So, in other words.....if my old fat boy Ps3 blows up(which i think its getting ready to do because its making real loud noises now) and Im in July of my franchise, if I go buy a new PS3 I have to start all over?? Is that what I see here?? I no nothing about technology so excuse the ignorance but damn, that sounds harsh.Of course you can still play franchise.
I think (some) people are totally misunderstanding here.
You can play franchise...you can SAVE franchise files...the only thing you can't do is move them to a USB drive to either save on your PC(or the USB drive) as a backup file or move to another PS3.
You CAN still save/edit/move/transfer/pour over/stare at
ROSTER SAVES
PLAYER SAVES....these can still be transferred to a USB drive and moved anywhere at will.
For whatever reason...it's franchise files that cannot be moved.

The only way to have a back up is to purchase PS+ for the cloud saving.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

You could purchase an external hard drive and try that. I'm not sure if it will work or not, as I've been told that yes it would and no it wouldn't.So, in other words.....if my old fat boy Ps3 blows up(which i think its getting ready to do because its making real loud noises now) and Im in July of my franchise, if I go buy a new PS3 I have to start all over?? For the cost of a decent external hard drive, you can sign up for 15 months of PS+ at $49.99 or 3 months at $17.99(I believe). Not only do you get the backup cloud storage(150MB), you also get the additional benefits it provides(free games, 90 minute game trials, early demos, plus more).
Outside of those two choices, and again, I'm not sure if the external hard drive would work, you would be SOL if your PS3 crashes in the middle of your franchise.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

It doesn't work. Even a system restore won't restore your locked saves to another PS3. I had a YLOD, I did all the research and tried everything. You can't even hook up the PS3's HD to your computer and get the saves since the PS3 using a file system that PCs don't recognize.Comment

Re: No Copying of Saved Game Files Kills Me...
I wish I'd have signed up for this last week. My PS3 YLOD on Saturday in the middle of my RTTS. It happened early enough that that particular save file isn't that annoying to be gone, but I want to get my other stuff back, in particular my Gran Turismo 5 save. I've found guides to fix it myself and I'm going to do that tonight to at least do a system backup before getting a new one. As of right now though I can't even get it to power on but here's for hoping I can get it going again!Comment

Re: No Copying of Saved Game Files Kills Me...
You can't download the file for 24 hours once it is uploaded. Really annoying. I thought one of the purposes of the online storage was to allow people to transfer game saves to a friend's house. The 24 hour rule kinda puts a damper on this...I guess you have to be a good planner.Comment

Unfortunately a system back up will not restore to a brand new system. Only saves that you were able to back up to USB/external HDD.I wish I'd have signed up for this last week. So you can't continue a back-up file from a new PS3 if God forbid a YLoD was to happen?Originally posted by Barney StinsonNever in the history of New York City nightclubs has there been a shortage of dudes. Not even during the Great Dude Shortage of 1883.Comment
