He was being sarcastic....
and could we stop calling it "30 team control" and maybe call it "30 team access" so the new guys to "The Show" will stop thinking they have to control the other teams day-to-day operations, or even go to the other 29 teams page for that matter.."I'm just saying"
So is there a way so that I am basically the guy with the final say in trades and such? But the CPU is still making the trade offers? What would Doc do?Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but i was playen around with the franchise issue yesterday.... Here is wat i did.
1. Yankees - everything user control 1 team controlled for the first two years. User signed free agents.
2. In the third season... got bored of manually signing players and stuff, so i put everythig on cpu control.
3. After the offseason, only 1 big name free agents, Jason Bay (37 yrs old) . did anybody look into that or do more testing with cpu controlled offseason... might help explain exactly what the problem is.Comment

Times have changed. Software development houses, especially products like sports games on one year cycles, have to glean as much info as they can to improve their products for the early patches and the next iteration of development cycle.
I am almost sure SCEA , due to being a FOR PROFIT business, would like to know what and where things are not "right".
The only Moron in the conversation is the guy who shouts down legit discourse, beneficial to all parties involved, due to a very immature and myopic view of the world around them.PROUD SUPPORTER OF:

Man those old systems controllers were rock solid though. How many walls and floors they been slammed on, and still work. You accidentally drop the new ones off a coffee table, and you out $50
I still want to point everyone to what Ramone said... so complaining about it still solves nothing, they know about it, and said they would address it.

"The Show" really is a treasure for sports gaming connoisseurs for two reasons:
1. The fanbase is incredible. Always pushing the developers in ways to improve the game we all love.
2. SCEA listens to the community. They try, and to the most part, have delivered many improvements and features that the fanbase has wanted.
It doesnt always mean they will get it "right", but until they prove us wrong that they dont care, I will continue to believe that they are as upset about glitches, bugs, franchise issues as the average user and as long as we provide meaningful feedback they will continue to respond to our concerns.PROUD SUPPORTER OF:

Re: Franchise Issues
Noone here who wants this issue fixed is spoiled. Yes we know human gm's do odd things however something like arbitration and team control of a player isn't up to the whims of a virtual or real gm. Its basic baseball contract structure that should be in the game such as The Show.
Seeing Fielder or Pujols as FA's isn't an issue its seeing a bevy of top tier guys and A rated prospects because of the underlying "broken" or incorrectly programmed arbitration issue in the last two games. That's the issue and complaint. Seeing all those players and prospects is simply a symptom of the issue.

Barnes,
Did I understand you correctly earlier that arbitration worked fine in the 2009 version?Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
I know some around here are involved, like many of us, in may different sports titles. That being said, it really is hard to gig SCEA and their post release efforts each year when compared to other sports titles released each year.

This(not the only ...just sayin' though)...is a man who gets it.
Thank you.
I absolutely understand that it is a disappointing situation...and I also understand the hard earned money posts....
It's the posts that say that there is some sort of malicious intent by SCEA to deceive you that I just don't get(actually I get it......I've got my suspicions...there is something dubious there I would say!)...
That being said....tbarnes...thank you....you put a lot of research into this....this year and last.
It's much appreciated by all of us I would say.

You are 100% correct. Wanting the issue fixed does not make you spoiled. But crying about it still, and saying the game is so broken and unplayable over and over, even AFTER a developer early on said they will fix it with confidence, is acting like a spoiled brat.
Sure, you can voice your piece about wanting it to be fixed. And you should, that is not the problem. It is the constant whining in a childish way, even after you made your point.
(not talking about you obviously, just piggy backing your post)

From my recollection yes. Reason I say that is I remember the teams offering Arbitration to Type A's etc. Last year alot of new features were added to Franchise that could have changed code. Waivers were put in, Waiver trades, 30 team control ect. so with so much new code it is possible things got a little screwy, but I do know that there was not a bug with FA after a few years......
BUT it IS a video game and there will be some odd occurrences. In 09 sometimes young prospects were not signed for whatever reason.
This probably will be a MOOT point because they are aware of the issue and more than likely will be corrected.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
Knight,
I am a stat dork and love to run simulations. I am not much of a stick jockey, more gm, haha so just doing what I love.
This game is the perfect combination of simulator and playable game. I always hear about OTTP, but to be honest I prefer this because I get to PLAY with my team I create.
I played HH2003 up until 2007 when I got a PS3..And this game.... Trust me when I say this.....MLB2011 is the BEST game hands down. These devs don't get the praise they deserve from the community.Comment
