Why not just set training to manual and act like the bug never happened.. Just a thought

I did do that, but I still see prospects go unsigned. It slows down the process for sure though. Last year I got around it by editing a roster with VERY few A players and B players. I did not create any players and the sim held true. Still had AI issues where teams did not resign their renewable players, but they were at least signed, so there is some work arounds.

What in the world happened to the quality control position that the SCEA team posted after last years problems? Does anybody remember this? Perhaps following through on that would help prevent these problems. You know, hire someone with a REAL understanding of MLB roster and contract logic. No offense to the devs, and I'm sure they're huge baseball fans. But, they're primary focus is code. I wonder how well they do understand application of contract issues into a GM's mindset.
I wrote something similiar to this the other day and Ramone came back and said QA is only so big and not all can be caught. Some of these bugs just kind of snuck in after they thought they had them fixed.

It does make you wonder just how much knowledge some of the testers have of baseball but we can only guess cause were not there ourselves.

from past experiences with MLB The Show they will get these cleared up. They are a stand up group that develops this game unlike the other company out there. I have all the faith in them that by opening day we will be set. Right now I have went back to playing MLB10 until this mess gets sorted thru its only a matter of time.

          What would they gain???
You really missed the point, entirely.

Do I think they came to this forum and said, "Hmmmm, let's find a way to mess with the users of Operation Sports!!!!" No...

Do I think their "quality control" with the game, not just this game mind you (ncaa football 11 comes to mind), are faulty? Clearly. There in lies the lie... Being promised that glitches, especially ones that were in last years games, would not be in there should be expected.

I don't know about you, but although glitches do come about in every game, do you honestly buy a game expecting glitches and being okay with them? Every game I purchase, I expect to be able to use the features promised to the consumer, to the best of it's abilities...

The point is, they are aware of the issue. They are working on the issue.

And I am more than confident that it will be addressed in one form or another. They are some of the top in the biz at taking care of the community.

              Thank you.

The question is how long do we have to wait before the game becomes playable? A day, a week, a month? Release date was Tuesday.

Game is playable now personally. /shrug

But I never start my Franchise or RTTS until, A) OS Rosters are done, and B) The regular season starts.

So there is ample time before a patch hits that addresses a lot of the issues.

I know everyone is different, but that works for me.

And the patch will be out when it is out. That is all the information we have. They will announce it when they are close to releasing it. They have always been good like that.

Again, my point is quality control in the sports gaming industry is poor to say the least. Whether it be EA, THQ, Sony, etc...

Mostly due to them having to meet a yearly game, where other games can afford 3-4 year dev cycles.

The consumer wants and demands them every year, so it is tough to balance.

I agree, but having the same glitches as the previous version is ridiculous.

There is a ton of variables that are tested. Also do not forget that this was a late addition, so possibly it did not have the time to go through full QA.

But knowing these guys we'll know soon what's up. They are probably trying to figure out what happened first before they report to us.

Same thing happens with NBA2k10 using random draft classes as the player pool increases with highly rated guys. Not a major issue, for the few players who end up sitting, just sign them and deal them to a team who needs them.

Everyone just needs to chill out and enjoy the d*mn game. It's a video game. At least they CAN patch some of these issues, unlike a few years ago when the game you bought was "final." Nothing here is that bad. Seriously. Play it. Have fun. Quit yer' b!tching.

From Ramone's comments, it sounds like they had it working for a while, and somehow something messed it up last minute, whether it was this patch, or something on the final game compile before it is stamped.

They will get to the bottom of it.

Exactly right. My have we become so spoiled, yet in the past we accepted what we got.
