This is what I was referring to...big name guys in the FA pool are absolutely fine with me...it's the guys who are under club control in some form..."contract renewable" which is what I think tabarnes was talking about

On that list is Heyward who should be under club control for 4 more seasons. Which goes back to my point in earlier post about arb and renewal.

Also CPU teams do not offer arbitration yet receive compensation. On that list all players are A and not offered arb.

It boggles my mind that more effort was probably put into bringing Eric Karros into the virtual booth than addressing the issues in franchise mode.
I don't consider franchise mode broken at all. If it's not 95% accurate to real life, it's 91.4% accurate, and that's fine with me for a video game. Baseball has a very complicated offseason, and the Show tries to re-create that, unlike in other sports where we're still waiting for unrestricted FA's and trading future draft picks.

The show has arbitration, rule V draft, etc.... I'll sacrifice a lil' realism for this depth EVERY single time

          Exactly.

And this past off season shows anything can happen outside the norm. Hell, the Soriano signing and other mid relief signings this off season show that The Show, was more accurate than people think, haha!

I hope the logic of the Red Sox pursuing Prince in that pic is to replace Ortiz as DH. I'd hate to see them trying to sign him if Ortiz is still on the roster in addition to Gonzalez at 1b!

Uh, some of the games top free agents languish unsigned for many years because of budget/progression problems. Guys who should be under a team's control for many years are being non tendered. Jason Heyward non tendered? Good God!

Sure, SCEA could release a bug free game if they REALLY wanted to. But since that would take a ridiculous amount of resources to dig up and fix every single bug, there would be no new features, and you guys would rip it for being stale and the same game as last year.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

If you see bugs, report them in the thread and they will likely be fixed. Then move on and enjoy this great game.
Yea, I am reporting bugs in the thread.
Honestly, bugs/glitches wasn't intended to be the main point of my rant. Rather, the fact the same ones have been reported and get overlooked. And while new features (that I do enjoy) get added, it seems to me like
(I'll say it again) too much time or effort is put towards things that work as opposed to things that don't.

                  Thanks for your support.

I will say this--I can certainly understand the challenge of trying to program the game to trade, sign, etc. similar to real life GM's/ball clubs.
And sometimes I think it does a decent job.
It's when the system shows its flaws that I again ponder why more time and effort doesn't go into perfecting parts of the game like this rather than improving facial features or uniform creases.
(Not that I don't appreciate those little things.)

I don't think some of the stuff here are bugs, but rather the developers not fully understanding the exhaustively complicated transaction rules of baseball. In the past, we have seen incorrect use of the 40 man roster, the 60 day DL issue, options not being counted correctly, no trades in the off season until after January 1st, etc. Perhaps the issue with players not getting automatically re-signed when they should be under team control is just another example. Or maybe I am wrong and they are bugs.

A lot of it has to do with guys pricing themselves out, some of it has to do with guys not having real contracts, and the other thing we have to remember is that the game doesn't see names. It only sees ratings.

If you want to see the interest bar move you have to have the instant trade option set to on, otherwise there is a three day waiting period while the team ponders your offer.

Ortiz was a FA in the sim, I recall seeing him down at the bottom of the list.

And as a bunch of people have noted, I'm not calling the fact that Fielder is an FA a bug (I definitely believe that he will be), but the guys who have <3 years of service time not getting renewed @ 400k is.

this is probably a dumb question but is this a problem in RTTS? I remember last year Lincecum was a FA and sat most of the year but I didn't look real deep into it. Does anybody know if this takes place in RTTS?

Just wondering something outloud.....but, what if, when using 30 team control, the user just went in and renewed the contracts of these A and B potential players in the offseason when that period arises (I know this would take some time, but isn't the offseason SUPPOSED to be a bit of a tedious endeavor?) If the problem is the "cpu" non-tendering these players, then them sitting in Free Agency, then the easiest fix for now, would be to override the "cpu and tender them
