Yeah I've found if the CPU is weak at a certain position, they will give up alot for that one position.

I just made a trade two days before the deadline in my Astros rebuilding franchise...

Astros get Brennen Bosche

Tigers get Carlos Lee

I liked the trade because the Tigers are in a playoff race and Cabrera is on the DL for them. As the Astros GM, I got a young outfielder to grow with Shafer and Bourgeious. Also, I got a TON of salary relief. Getting rid of Lee's 6.2 mil per year salary opens up a lot of room for me to sign some key FAs in the offseason.

Now, I need to send Wandy packing for some young pitching prospects. If I get rid of Wandy, I would have around thirty million in CAP space going into the offseason.

i love ur strategy but i think u coulda extracted a mid-level prospect or two from the tigers considering boesch is still a baby and lee is a grizzled vet....im playing with the 'stros as well btw...hopefully i'll be adding and not subtracting by the trading deadline

Are you playing with the trade deadline rosters in your franchise? I decided to start a franchise with the Astros using Ridins' new rosters because I knew it be tough without Bourne and Pence in the clubhouse.

Yep i am but i recalled Johnson and Wallace instantly...I need some type of offensive infusion outside of Lee...Also i took Schaefer off the DL and plugged him in the leadoff spot...platooning bogusevic and michaels in right....and i took Castro off the DL and made him my starter cause there was no way im using Quintero as my everyday catcher.....other then those minor changes, everything is pretty much the same....

Your yanks trade was absolutely horrendous as there's no way the yanks would trade CC...nor would the 'stros do the rays trade u mentioned either

Makes no sense to me, why don't you just sign all the free agents that are good? Maybe you should get the new roster update. Either Knights opening day or the new Ridin V2. And btw neither of those trades are realistic.

If a guy gets me Sabathia and Robertson for Myers, Lee and Arias; I don't see how he'd be doing a bad job.

From the games logic, yes that's fine. But if you are looking from a real life point of view, why would the Yankees give you a perrenial Cy Young candidate for a bad pitcher in the N.L. and an overpriced DH?

This is what I always try to do when making trades. Just imagine yourself as controlling the other team, and would you make the same deal with the team you are actually playing as.
