What I've been doing is just punching in players stas to get the values and add em all up.

Say I'm doing a 3 for 2 trade involving 3 position players and 2 pitchers, I would try to get the value of the first two position players (because there's only spot for two position players at a time) then erase the data of one of the player and get the value of the third guy. Some for pitchers.

It's much easier than I try to explain it, but I hope you get what I'm saying though.

I get what you are saying. Essentially, my point values are the same concept just scaled down.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will do that.

BTW, a real trade happened in MLB today. Mark Ellis to the Rockies for Bruce Billings. I decided to check how the trade value points would work out with my spreadsheet. Ellis was 3.6 trade value points and Billings was 3.9. A very even trade. Just thought that was neat. Doesn't mean my sheet is always correct or the standard-bearer.

Sooo, I have been trying to trade for Carlos Beltran in my Astros franchise, and cant get the mets to agree on a trade for the life of me! Any one have any success in landing Beltran without having to give up your best player? If so please share any packages you put together....
I also tried with a Pirates chise and no luck....

as for pitt., are you contending because if you are just getting beltran for fun and plan on getting sandwich picks because of him, try offering a package including meek. mets relieving sucks.

I started to hate Alex Gonzalez after he would constantly hold onto the ball too long allowing infield singles and botched double plays.

Add that to the fact he's not hitting the ball at all I decided I had to trade him before the window closes.

Braves trade: (51-48)
SS Alex Gonzalez, 33yo, 2.2M/yr, contract year
RP George Sherrill, 32yo, 2.0M/yr, contract year

Mariners trade: (42-59)
SS Jack Wilson, 32yo, 4.4M/yr, 2 year contract
RP Edwar Paredes, 23yo, Cpot, 385K/yr, 2 year contract

I doubt the Mariners would be trading for aging veterans at this point when they are just about out of the playoff push but Gonzalez and Sherrill are in their contract years so they can just elect to not resign them next year.

And Carlos Truinfel should be ready to start at shortstop next year plus the Mariners would have an extra $4M in cap space to spent on players this offseason.

*** What should I do with my 25yo SS Wilkin Castillo. He's making $13M this year and is scheduled to make $14M the next two years.
He's not good at anything I don't know how he fool the organization into a three year deal worth close to $45M.
Maybe it's his A potential but I don't see him improving drastically over the next three years since he's already 25.

Trading is 100% broken in this game. Its tough to trade anyone but than the game slips and some of the best players in the game you can get for the worst players in the game.

Heres a few examples. Yesterday I wanted Justin Morneau. CPU wouldnt let him go for anyone in the game. Than I tried a reliever and the trade interest bar filled. So I try all 15 relievers on my team and they would take anyone for him.

Game does this for most players.

I just tried to duplicate it and I got the complete opposite. I tried to straight up trade Tulowitzki and the Twins wouldn't bite. It took Tulo, Willin Rosario, and a C pot reliever in order for them to pull the trigger.

Players you can get like this is random. But if I mess aroudn for alittle bit I can always get the cpu on some team to give me a stud for a scrub or 2 scrubs.

Another example would be yesterday I tried to trade for a good SS. Nobody would trade me for my current bad starter with a couple A prospects. No interest at all. Than I try Asdrubal Cabrera and the team he was on would trade him just for my scrub SS.

Trading is broken. Only thing to do is turn on forced trades and make sure every trade is fair, and keep the trades down.

Just like In Real Life. Cubs Franchise 10+ GB. I'm 14-28 play most of the games.

2 Trades:

Ian Stewart 3B, Jose Lopez 2B for Blake Dewitt 2B, Thomas Dimond SP(I believe he had C or B Potential rating)

Jordan Zimmerman for Randy Wells and Jay Jackson B Pot.

1st trade I made because Aramis is out for 1-2 Months and well Blake Dewitt is garbage.

I'm trying so hard to wait on pulling the trigger on my next trade(s). I'm about 40 games in but I'm sick of Betemit and Aviles in my Royals franchise.

You all have any suggestions for a 2B or 3B players?
