    3. Is it possible to increase the likelihood for a base stealer with good baserunning ability to slide in head first rather than feet first. I know it's possible to influence the slide, but with slide assist and for the CPU based on my playthrough with franchise this year, a lot of them go feet first and that slide animation causes them to slow down, often times costing the would-be base stealer a stolen base with a great jump.

    I always controlled the slide myself so I don't know.

    It feels about the same. I didn't see the "fish" pickoff (that is what we call it) but I also don't take more than a one step lead, ever.

    Phenomenal - plays just like the PS3 version. Although I think the outfielder changes may not be in the Vita version.

    Not in the Exhibition games I played. Didn't notice in Franchise.

    Is DH a position we can give a player this year?

    With the new camera angle it is MUCH better to see the ball.

    Is reading arm slots on pitcher's still irrelevant? For example, does an 18yo, F rated, 0% energy left, minor leaguer's slider get released at the exact same point as his fastball every time?

    Releases are tied into the delivery animation.

    Only on no doubters.

    Probably not anytime soon. They just redid the system. It's much better anyway.

    6. After a linedrive is caught by an infielder he stands there as if there is another play to make. When there are runners on base this makes sense but they always go to this animation. This is not necessary when the bases are emty or there are 2 outs.

    Just a caveat of the animation system.

    8. Will the pitcher (from time to time) turn his head
    to check the runners on base before the pitch. Always wondered why this isn't in.

      Did not see what you're talking about. The speed bursts were just animation issues and they are better.

        Does the CPU still have a pretty incredible eye when hitting with two strikes?

        Has the arm strength of the fielder's been toned down at all?

        Do injuries occur when the pitcher is hit by a line drive?

          While pitching, did you notice you had a wider coverage range? This specifically applies to meter and analog pitching, but in years past, it was quite difficult to intentionally throw a pitch outside of the strike zone, and even moreso if you wanted it to be "way off" the plate (ie pitching "around" a batter, instead of just flat out walking them).

          I think this is my last question! lol...

            With regards to "goalie pitchers", do the pitchers who get drilled by a line drive back at them actually have to leave the game due to injury now? Last year that was one of the most frustrating things. Not only did they stop way more than they should on balls back thru the middle, but there would be other times when the ball would be smoked off the pitchers face, and you'd still get thrown out, the animation for the pitcher getting drilled would show up but he'd still stay in the game.

              Yes thats the problem, you dont know if the pitch is gonna be a ball until its about halfway to the plate, and then its too late.

                  I understand the bunting gripe, but why do people dislike the way check swings happen ? It feels natural to me with the pressure sensitive buttons. If I don't press the swing button hard and long enough, the check swing will happen.

                  Maybe the check swing gripe is when you use analog hitting controls ?

                    I don't wish to deviate from the original purpose of this thread, but...

                    It takes a skill to check swing well. I went from somebody who checks on every pitch to somebody who doesn't do *that* much (well, I guess you can say I still do more than a lot of guys do...), so I can understand both sides.

                    If you are somebody like me who wants to be "ready to commit" on every single pitch, then you might end up check swinging too often out of habit, some of which will end up being unsuccessful of course. But with practice, you become better at not committing at all.

                    Check Swing Sensitivity slider might be a good option in this case. Though the current sensitivity is very good I think... I tend to take my failure as something of a learning curve, and I feel I can be better at it with practicing (a feeling I like).

                      I understand now and I think a sensitivity slider for check swings is a good idea !

                          This area is still a weak point in the game. The frequency of the pitcher getting hit and still making the play is happening too much. There are cutscenes after the play having him limp around but the pitcher usually stays in. More logic needs to be incorporated into this area.

                            We spent a lot of time with the sound people on the development team. Adjustments were being made when we were there. We should defintely see some improvements this year but don't expect it to be flawless.

                              I should reiterate my stance on check swings. It is JUST like control over deadzone and sensitivity in FPS which much of the time we do not have full control over. On PC I can use my PS3 pad and xpadder plus motioninjoy drivers to get the exact deadzone and analogue sensitivity I desire. This is usually not a problem in FPS on console as they give you sens. controls. But damn if I have problem getting check swings and it is bad considering you see these almost every inning of baseball.

                              Buttons are harder for me to lay off but I do play on fast pitch speed.

                                How about check swings for the Move? Is it basically 1:1 with you swinging?

                                Because I'll know if I went around or not.
