I'm thinking it is some sort of King of the Mountain mode.

I wast thinking the same thing, but then I remembered the ladder mode from NHL 2k5. Then again, the devs could be mistaken about this idea of never being done before as well.

"Be A Broadcaster" Mode

A neat thing you can do with Sportscast Live is that you can listen to some guys playing against each other as if you are listening to radio. I kinda like the feature because I used to listen to a lot of baseball on radio.

Rather than hearing M.V. over and over again, this year's game allows another gamer to broadcast a game as s/he watches it live. The broadcast can be done by one announcer (Vin Scully-type) or by a team.

The broadcast feed can be listen to anyone hooked up to PSN. The broadcast will be recorded. Those who listen to the broadcast can grade it and then gamer broadcasters will be ranked online.

At the end of the year, SCEA announces who had the "best call" for the year. You the winner will be awarded a chicken dinner somewhere in San Diego, with Matt Vasgersian (who reports how you eat) and Tim McCarver (who criticizes your table manner incessantly).



I'm just trying so hard to come up with some idea that's just not been done before... which basically means not playing/managing baseball... is that right...

i don't know about ladder mode - i just don't think that it provides a unique look at baseball.

to be honest - as closely as baseball is analyzed, i can't imagine this game giving us a unique look, meaning even a new perspective.

Most of the ideas in this thread sound terrible.

OMG I WANT TO BE THE FIRST BASE LINE!

It's probably some sort of tournament thing in a way that has never been done before.

Haven't played them, so I wouldn't know.

Would you mind explaining their similar mode?

basically you start off creating a team with a logo and such then you pick a team of generic players
after you create the team you have to play all the pro teams and after you win you take their best player and give away one of their players while if you lose they take one of your players and give away one of theirs, you keep playing until you have the best team possible and can beat the mode which invloves an all star team at the end

I'd actually love this mode as it was very addicting for me in the past

Ah yes, it does sound very similar. If you get a player taken away from your team, do you have a chance at winning him back still? Is it an online mode as well? Do you get to choose who you take and give?

it wasn't online and you don't replay teams and yes you have a chance to win them back, i know you get to choose the player you take

i also believe that you never actually give the player to the other team but you drop them from the team because once you beat a team you don't play them again so there is no point in giving them a player

so the modes are different but the idea has been done before

this is stupid. how can you play this online? if i win derek jeter for my club, and then lose him online? my CPU teams will end up with no one.


this is like some kind of ladder game i guess? its certainly not a "unique" look at baseball... its a fictitious look at baseball. the unique aspect of the mode has nothing specifically to do with baseball.

If you're referring to my suggested mode, I took online and offline to be completely separate teams.
