The available time and resource must have been factors as well (I think someone like Knight also heard that from the devs directly). There are definitely some kinks that I feel that the devs simply didn't have time to work on. Like the framerate issues on cut scenes and busy plays... we probably wouldn't have seen these if they had more time to spend time on them.

And it's a bit naive to think that the devs honestly say the things are the way they are because everything is designed and intended to be that way. From their research on consumers, it's very likely that the devs honestly thought Vita users would only want "quick" gaming experience, which may be true for many... if so, it only makes sense if there's something that can be left out to save time to spend on something else, those presentation details are the most reasonable things to leave out.

Whatever the truth is, the gameplay itself is already pretty solid on Vita. Sure I wish there's more I could do with regard to the pacing of the gameplay, but I hardly encounter any game-breaking issues.

I just wish the gap between the PS3 and Vita versions won't become greater.

I'm hoping for the sake of humanity that we at least get a foul line that's straight next year.

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread

I understand the developers had some complex issues with the PS3 this year, but it was a little frustrating that the Vita and its users were left in the dark in regards to communication.

From earlier posts, Woodweaver made it seem like there would be a patch and then ... nothing. Here it is July and it's been months since any MLB developer has made comment on the Vita version.

Again, overall I am happy with the game, but I would've liked to have seen some issues addressed via a patch, or at least have the developers acknowledge the issues, explain why a patch may not have been possible, and call it a day. I don't think that's too much to ask when users spent over $300 to have the ability to play their MLB franchise on the go.

I took a break from both games for a good while. But when I get back into my season I'll be enjoying it on both systems.

Yes, but be aware the created faces won't look correct (Vita had limitations in this area compared to the PS3 version). There's so little presentation in the Vita version that players faces don't get a whole lot of in-game screentime, anyway.

does the cross platforming of franchise mode finally work?

I think so, but you're better off waiting for someone who uses it regularly and knows that answer for sure

No. The Show's cloud saving is done independently of PS+, and it's done inside the game. You can only save one file at a time for each mode on the cloud, though.

I have a question about influencing fly balls on the Vita. I know with the PS3 it's R2, and direction, how do you do this with Vita?

Thanks. I love this game although it's frustrating how much I still struggle hitting and I've been playing this series since the first one.

Is anyone else having the game freeze when starting a game with recent firmware revisions? I only play RTTS, and every time it freezes on me, it's right before the "Fast-forwarding to your career player's next event" message. I end up with just a blank black screen and I have no choice but to press the PS button and quit the game.

It never happens on the first game played after loading a save, but I haven't been able to play more than four consecutive games without it happening.

I was playing RTTS last night and my game crashed on me on the main RTTS menu. Lost about five games.

Haven't played RTTS since the last Vita firmware update, but I'll give it a try right now.

Edit: played a little and it crashed after about the 5th or 6th game.

Just curious, how much free space do you guys have on your memory cards?
