Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
So I won the triple crown .408/ 65 hr/178 rbi... I sign a 3 year 45 mill contract with Seattle, then they trade me for a 35 year old ryan howard straight up. Wow seattle is dumb in the game. But I'm happy Philly's starting rotation is Tim Lincecum, Josh Johnson, Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee and Chris Carpenter. Looks like I will finally have the pitching support i wanted. Hopefully I bring the WS back to phillyComment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
After making the southern league all-star team, then playing in the futures game, the Braves decided to trade me to Baltimore. My first game in Bowie, I went 3-5 with 5 RBI's. Not a bad way to make an impression.
Annoyingly though, every RTTS I've ever done has ended up with me being traded to Baltimore. I wish for once I could get traded somewhere else.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
well, i focused everything on power vs righties. im at 99 vs rhp worked on plate vision like a mofo thats at 99. i have 95 contact vs rhp. but im in my 6th season total. took me bout 4 seasons to get to the mlb. i knew it would take longer the way i was going but I wanted to be a power guy. i dont hit a huge avg but when i lay wood on the ball i wanted to go far and hard.

For example, does vision or discipline matter since my human ability (or lack of) is at play with the use of the sticks/buttons?
How does that apply to all of the offensive hitting attributes?Comment

Do you or anyone else here know which of the offensive attributes actually matter when the game is being played by a human?

I could be totally wrong, im pretty new to the series and just searched google for these types of questions.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Seems like every pitch I see in the strike zone is a "pitcher's pitch." I rarely get a mistake pitch. In 240 ABs in triple-a syracuse, I struck out 30 something times and walked 20 something times....which means I put a lot of balls in play. But I'm only hitting .217
Now, I'm a patient hitter...but am always behind in the count because no-names are consistently painting the black and working the plate like so many Greg Madduxes (Madduxi?). F'ing irritating. Why are all these phenoms languishing in triple-a with 20+ mph differentials and the ability to hit their spots 10 times out of 10. I swear with RISP and a X-2 count, I have YET to see a bad pitch (from the pitcher's perspective). Always right on the corner, high & tight or low & away. Stuff that even if you get wood on it, it's dribbling for an out.
And this is on all-star!? WTF?Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Well I typed up a very long rant about how BAD RTTS is this year, and this crappy site decided to delete it all because it claims I wasn't logged in, even though I had to log in to post...
As if i wasn't frustrated enough. basically in a nut shell, this game mode is broken beyond belief. DO NOT MAKE A SHORTSTOP you will NEVER be an everyday player.NFL : Atlanta Falcons
MLB : Toronto Blue Jays

I think the CPU pitching is a little on the Greg Maddux side as well, right out of the box. I've adjusted the pitcher control slider one notch to the left and it's helped. I get mistake pitches more often now and it feels realistic. The better pitchers don't miss quite as much, but probably are still a little too pin-point; but I live with it...for now.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Played my first year up until the all-star break in AA then got promoted to AAA. I then finished the year in AAA earning the starting spot at the end of the year.
My second year I started off on the bench in AAA and was the started by the all-star break. However, in August I broke my foot and was out for the season.
Just started off my third year and I'm starting back in AA, not fun and a waste of money for the Red Sox as they signed me to a 3 year 800,000 deal.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Colorado re-upped me for a second year after a blown out ACL ended my first campaign in the first week of June. I struggled mightily for the first month and a half of the season in AAA with Colorado Springs and was traded to the Twins organization to play in Rochester. After a slow start with Rochester I began to find my groove and am now tearing it up. Good to be back on track after a devastating injury really killed my momentum.
Vision is such a key attribute to upgrade if you want to succeed at AAA and beyond.Comment
