No players = no butts in seats. No butts in seat = no one wants to pony up $ for new stadium. Is their a contract between the A's and oakland that keeps them from moving. I mean with cities that have stadiums that are a lot better than current conditions and want a MLB team?
they wanna move to San Jose but the Giants have territorial rights to that area

I think I read something about that recently, but thought San Jose was suppose to be nuetral or at least agreed upon by both teams (I could have been wrong as it may be San Frans as you say) and MLB was or didn't want to get involved.
I worked out at Hunters Point where for a while they were talking about building the 49ers new stadium. No offense if you are from Oakland, but I would want to move to San Jose too. I stayed there for three months initially and would still be there probably if my job had been there.

im not familar with geography in that area since i'm in NYC so i wouldnt be qualified to get into specifics of what's going on....and no offense taken....i was treated to a Yanks/A's series 3 years ago for my b-day and that stadium is hideous....i wouldn't stay for 3 days let alone 3 months

How about Felix doubront from Boston?

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

When OSFM comes out I'll be starting my Rays 'chise, and I'm looking to move three players, Kyle Farnsworth, BJ Upton, and Hak-Ju Lee, In return I'd ideally like to get a catcher, a closer/rp, and a couple of medium prospects + an outfielder to replace upton. I was thinking Lee to the M's for Jaso, Johermyn Chavez, and Chance Ruffin. I don't know how important Ruffin is to the M's maybe just the other 2? For Upton I'm really looking for and outfielder with a good glove and one batting tool, preferably under 26. I'm hoping Farnsworth gets me a rp and a prospect. Ideas?
Edit: For Upton some players I like are Cameron Maybin,Jon Jay, Peter Bourjos, Carl Crawford all of which the computer would accept. For Farnsworth I'd ideally like a player like phillipe aumont.

U could get better quality in the Lee deal considering Lee is Tampa's best hitting prospect.....For Upton, i like the Maybin idea....although he just signed a long-term contract IRL.....for Farnsworth, don't expect anything more then a mid-level prospect in return

What would you suggest for Lee, ideally I'd like a fourth outfielder + a catcher + whatever I can get in prospects
So for Farnsworth a B to B- Pitching prospect? Example? I'd like a future closer.

Tyler Colvin and Wilin Rosario from the Rockies for Lee.......and no Farnsworth would bring u back a C pitcher

I pulled off a wacky trade last night, sort of a three team deal.

                    Mariners Get:
                    Matt Garza
                    Adam Lind
                    Henderson Alvarez
                    Trey McNutt

                    Cubs Get:
                    Taijuan Walker
                    Alex Liddi
                    Erasmo Ramirez

                    Blue Jays Get:
                    Anthony Rizzo
                    James Paxton
                    EPL - Arsenal
                    MLB - Seattle Mariners
                    NBA - Cleveland Cavaliers
                    NFL - Philadelphia Eagles
                    MLS - Seattle Sounders

What team were you? It's a nice trade especially for the Cubs & Jays and not a total loss for the M's as they get a couple of prospects but imo they lose their best pitching prospects, while it fills needs for them it isn't long term & doesn't fit their strategy, totally imo though.

I was the Mariners. I wanted to get an A pitching prospect in return, and I did with McNutt, while Alvarez is a B prospect and is 21 years old. So not bad. I hated giving up Walker, but I want to win this season and it was the only way.

With the OSFM rosters coming out tonight I am going to get going on my MN Twins franchise. I already know we will be out early (I don't play every game). I would be looking to get rid of:

                          Liriano (maybe)
                          Morneau
                          Span
                          Capps

What sort of prospects or players could I get that would be semi-realistic?

My goal is to get 1 ace/top of the rotation pitcher.

                          Thanks

That trade is absolutely brutal for the Mariners. Not only do they get shafted on the total shift of talent, they also add way to much payroll and get a 1B who can't get on base when the team already has plenty of players who do that.

Package would be fine. But they wouldn't all need to be together.

I was also thinking (even though this wouldn't be realistic) what sort of package I could get for Mauer?

What about Montero and Ackley for Mauer? I just really don't like the guy.
