Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Actually Holliday would probably be the first to go if there was no hope for them. One year older and 17 million a year until 2017.. ouch. I'm betting he won't be worth that much at the end..Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I didnt trade for Bumgarner. I didn't think he would be untouchable because they have Timmy and Cain. Also when I did the trade on my padres one, no one said he was untouchable.
Also just because Amarista was traded earlier in the year doesn't mean he wouldn't get traded again. Ever hear of Mike Napoli, Juan Rivera, and Edwin Jackson? You should have because the Jays traded all of them not long after acquiring them!Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'd say he's untouchable. He's only 30, and been runner up for Cy young on many different occasions. I'd say he's more untouchable than Bumgarner, because the giants have Lincecum and Cain. Not trying to persuade you to allow me to trade for him, but he's never been great. He's been good, but Wainwrights been great for a long time. Again, I'm not trading for Bum, so don't think that's what I'm trying to do here, but I think he's untouchable.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
He's not gonna get traded dude seriously I'm not telling you how to play but you can't keep tearing apart different teams then getting bored and going to another. If your gonna keep doing this there's no reason to post on this thread. We tell you this repeatedly and yet you still just keep going again do what you want but it's becoming old really fast... And I'm not the only one to feel this wayComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm saying he's never had a great season before this year. Wainwright has. But I'm not denying that Bumgarner is better. I'm just saying they do have 2 aces already but he's def. untouchbleComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
But he's the second best pitcher in that rotation and who cares how many aces are in the rotation they still would never trade himComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
If the Cards were playing like say.. the Twins, Padres, or Cubs they wouldn't look the unload some salary and rebuild a bit for the future? Holliday a valuable player who makes over 15% of their payroll could be an option.
Now they obviously aren't that bad.. I was just speaking hypothetical. It isn't like he was a St. Louis player for life. He has only played there for 2 1/2 season, so if they were one of the bottom few teams in baseball I don't think a trade could be ruled out.
That is just my opinion though I guess.Comment

True about the contract being hard to move, but I can think of a few teams that would gladly take it lol. I'm just saying it is feasible under those circumstances I mentioned earlier.Comment

Napoli was reported to he dealt to the Rangers as soon as he was acquired. I know, because I was monitoring the deal as it went through.
Rivera was DFA'd, and that was months after he was acquired.
Jackson was part of a three team deal to get Colby 'my man crush' Rasmus.
Does anyone really care where I sent this from?"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment
