Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
What do you guys think of this trade? I'm the Mets.
R.A. Dickey for Jurickson Profar, Mike Olt, and Julio Borbon. I know it seems like a lot, but I made this trade in July, and Dickey won the Cy Young award (2.3 something ERA) and won 2 games for the Rangers in the WS (they ended up losing to the DBacks in 7). Borbon was wasting away in AAA.
The Rangers desperately needed pitching, as Darvish's ERA was above 5, and not a single starter was below 3.50 at the time of the trade (Dickey was 2.27).
Wright was hurt all of August and September, so Olt played full time, and I let Wright walk at the end of the year because Olt did good and he was a Type A. If not for him, I probably would've re-signed Wright.
Profar was blocked by Andrus. He played out the year at AA and I currently have him battling with Ruben Tejada for SS in Spring Training 2013.
At the time it seemed like I took too much, but looking back and considering what Dickey did for the Rangers, I feel like the trade was close to fair, favoring me a little bit.Comment

Hey guys cheers for all the help so far, picked up DeWitt for a C prospect, to cover backing up my infield.
Only a few days before trade deadline, and still want to offload Prado, nowUggla is on the DL for the season and I want a suitable replacement for him so I can also let Uggla go at the end of the season. How much do you think I need to give up for Howie Kendrick?Covers at
