In reply to what post? Or are you asking what his price is? I'd say two high C's if that's the case

No, they would not trade him. They would trade his back up for a high B maybe but you would have to really overpay to get Hanigan.

Why wouldn't they trade Hanigan? They seem to believe that Devin Mesoraco is still their future.

I agree but somehow they don't seem to think he's ready to play everyday. It all feels like a real cloudy situation as Mesoraco was mentioned as a ROY candidate in fantasy circles last off-season. I'd trade Hanigan if I was Jockety and put Mesoraco in there behind the plate every day

it is just one of those things I read along the way. Hannigan won them over this year and now they would trade Devin before him but really do not want to trade either. He's not untouchable like King Felix but he is definitely a lot more than two C's.

As a Reds fan I can't see them giving up Hanigan at all it could potentialy be a disaster for the pitching staff. Mes is good, but Hanigan is just much better at handling a pitching staff. Hanigan deserves as much credit as anyone for that staff being one of the best in baseball.

Even when every pitcher on your staff asks to pitch to Hanigan?

Didn't know that but at the same time, we're talking about professional pitchers who should be able to throw strikes no matter who's behind the plate

That's why I love this thread--we help each other. Like when people were going after Andrus/Profar and someone stepped up and said no, they aren't trading either of them.

It doesn't matter who the catcher is, teams do not want them behind the dish everyday as it helps short term effectiveness and longevity of careers. They were looking at 70-30 Mesoraco doing most of the time but that flip-flopped because Hannigan performed better. Mesoraco is still viewed as being the long-term 70% someday, so I really don't see either of them going anywhere.

I feel like I'm gonna get shot for this, and hence I'm expecting the negatory on responses, but what sort of players would the Jays have to give up to get Mike Olt?

Also, what could the Jays get from the Braves for Emilio Bonifacio? One Braves fan on MLBTR said he'd be comfortable be giving up Gilmartin and Venters.

Mike Olt would take a lot. I'm guessing a nice young catcher (Arencibia, d'Arnaud) if they don't have Napoli. You might be able to add a low prospect on the Rangers' side.

As for Bonifacio, Gilmartin AND Venters would be too much. Maybe a Tommy Hanson or Mike Minor plus a high-C?

Bonifacio can't be worth that much IMO. I see him 2 C's at the most.

I think it'd be hard to have a deal with just Olt. Maybe center it around Olt and Rasmus? (You're going to shoot me for that one  ) Idk Olt's potential, is it high B?

I agree that he's not worth Venters AND Gilmartin (hence the smirk) but I think he's worth more than two C's. I could see Gilmartin OR Venters.

I was thinking that, to be honest, it'd open up Andrus for a J-Up trade.

I'm talking about Olt more for MLB 13 than for 12.

Okay, yeah I think a deal centered around Olt-Rasmus would be the most enticing to the Rangers (assuming they don't get Upton)

I personally don't know much about Gilmartin but I think Venters would still be an overpay, even after his disappointing season
