I'm still not entirely sure about the Reds moving him, and he's a little old, like Arencibia.

What about that d'Arnaud kid? A bit of a scrub but he'd do, I guess.

He was a catcher? Had no clue. What's his POT?

Austin Hedges could be a good option.

Hah...he better not be a scrub!

How about the other kid from the Yankees?...

Sanchez? Calling him a catcher is pretty generous

            Yep Pacheco was a catcher. He's a B potential I think.

I was thinking Hedges too. He'd cost more than Pacheco I think

              I meant Romine though.
Didn't hit me until you said Sanchez(who I consider what I considered Montero a DH in the making)

A lot more. I scouted him out this year (complete coincidence- was scouting Aaron Sanchez and got to see Hedges) and he looked awesome. I know SD likes pitching, but is there anything else they want?

I think Pacheco is going to play 1B.

Swanner is ahead of him on the C depth chart.

Romine isn't bad, but he's isn't very good. What do you think about Hedges?

                      Hedges.
Might be the best defensive catching prospect in the game.
                      His arm is RIDICULOUS.

He is a solid prospect IMO.

Might be? He is, from what I've seen. I was thinking d'Arnaud and Jimenez from the Jays were so awesome defensively and then I saw Hedges. I'd think the Padres would like a nice vet back.

Padres need Middle IF prospects. All they really have that I know of is Cory Spangenberg who can play at 2B

I know he isn't a prospect, but what about Emilio Bonifacio?

John Hicks. His hitting might be a High Desert illusion (.312/.351/.472 last year, .289/.327/.398 on the road), but honestly he could hit .250/.320/.400 and still be an above average catcher. Why? He's a solid receiver and maybe the best catch-and-thrower in the minors, with a CS% of 54% in 106 attempts. He should start in AA next year and will only be 23... I'd still give him a C+, but it would be coupled with a high floor and he can be had for cheap or in a package deal.
