Why not let the users adjust hitting/pitching/fielding etc. with sliders that have increased flexability to tailor the game to each individuals skill.Last edited by NAFBUC; 01-19-2013, 10:30 AM.Comment

Question for Nem during community day: When you hit the ball to the gap right or left field. The camera is following the ball and you cannot see the stop or go sign your 3B Coach is displaying. Will there be a different camera angle for the baseball when it is in play?
ThanksComment

I have always felt the same way about the influence of sliders. SCEA now has an easy mode and increased the hitting timing in all play levels.

They have always intended it for fine tuning and not big swings.

Hopefully there will be an option though to edit so we can still have players like Garza get it done as in real life. sadly a 0 on throw accuracy doesn't replicate his magnificence in the game.
Spoiler
Granted these aren't pickoff attempts, but it would still be funny to see a player that can't throw the ball to first like Garza couldn't seem to last year.Comment

Why not? We're the ones buying and playing the game. I see nothing wrong with giving us more control. If something ends up a little goofy it's on me not them. This is the ONLY sports game that uses such a small scale for sliders. Everybody else uses a 100 point system (really 20 for those that use 5 point increments although NBA 2K and Madden use the full 100). There really is no excuse for not improving this area imo.Comment

But they don't need an excuse....they have a reason. That is the way they want to develop the game.
From what I gather....... they are trying to develop a simulation of baseball. Their game represents that well and while they want the end user to be able to fine tune the simulation to fit into their gameplay style, they are not interested in letting it be manipulated in such a way that it would not fall within what they consider simulation.(for instance...making the pitch accuracy slider such that you could never throw a ball....or never be able to throw a strike)
The slider scales have been adjusted to have a larger degree of range in the past, so that's not something that they wouldn't consider, but unless some of those guys make a 180.....I don't think you'll see what I think you're asking for in the game.

If something ends up crazy in the game because of the sliders, how would the dev team justify the game having game breaking issues because they just said "Well eff it, let them do what they want. Pitch speed at 5000, CPU batters swinging at 95% of all pitches, whatever! Balancing the game is so boring." Without restraint the game becomes less like a simulation which is what the game is designed to be.Comment

My kids find this game far too difficult on any setting and would rather play Mario Sluggers on the Wii than play with real teams because it's not as fun. Maybe with stronger sliders and a wider scale (particularly with lowering pitch speed) I could have created an environment where they might have enjoyed the game. I also know I have passed on this game in the past because I found pitch speed at 0 too frustrating for me.Comment

Perhaps we can ask for a larger range of some sliders.
Can you list which ones you want to see a broader range(if changed....it will still be the same bar...with broader space between the low and high points)
I'm not promising anything, but we can ask...that's what these threads are about!

To be honest I never have paid attention to him. I usually send runners based on what is happening in the field. I guess my question is are his hand motions really relevant to what is occurring on the field?“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment
