Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Do you have Eric Young Jr.? He would be great to get for a lead off hitter as the Mets acquired him in real life for Collin McHugh.
You could maybe even throw in Tyler Colvin for your 20-25 HR guy. With consistent playing time, Colvin could get those numbers and he has decent speed. Last year he hit .290 with 18 HRs and really didn't play consistently until the middle of the year.
Can't really think of the Mets prospects right now, but they would probably want more pitching for Colvin.Denver Broncos

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
OK, that's helpful.
No, I'm not using 30 team control, though I've heard about the feature a little bit.
Does that require you to micromanage the affairs of all 30 teams? I think doing so would be more than I can handle, but if there's a way to create a better trading logic without having to do absolutely everything, then I could see how that would be good.
Any info on that would be great!
For the trading, don't rely on the in-game AI at all. It's been established thousands of times how that's just broken.
So, if you have a need for a deal, think about what you want and what you can give up first, then come to the OP and take a look at the spreadsheet to check how fair your original thought is. Modify it as needed and then propose something here. The gents in this thread are good at helping with if a trade is realistic/a good fit or not whereas the spreadsheet tells you if it's fair.
The process basically completely supercedes any in-game trade logic. Also, you should probably have force trade ON because just like the cpu recognizing a crappy deal as fair, it will be wrong in the other direction too--it'll think fair deals are rips sometimes.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Wow, man, that's some detailed stuff. I wish I had the time and inclination to do it that way, but I just can't imagine enjoying the benefits given the time necessary to manage rosters. I totally get it, though, for folks who are very intense about wanting trades and signings to correspond most realistically to real life.
I'll bow out for a bit since others have real trade stuff on the table now, lol, but thanks to you and the rest for all the help thus far!Comment

I do have young JR so I'm more inclined to go after the homerun guy. I'm also trying to stay fairly young and inexpensive so soriano and Beltran are out.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
This wasn't what he was asking. He was asking for a lead off hitter (EYJ) and/or a .280, 20-25 HR guy (Colvin). I gave a suggestion for both types of players he was asking for. They both would be fairly easy to acquire and on the same team. Hey WTNY how is Ian Stewart treatin ya?

There's absolutely no probably about it. Syndergaard is a huge overpay for both those guys, no question in my mind. Good God is he an incredible talent."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Lorenzo Cain has been absolutely amazing for me. He hit .300 the first year in my Franchise and he's currently hitting .324 through the All Star Break. He isn't a 20-25 home run type guy but he'll probably hit 15 and give you good speed out there. On top of that he won't cost you that much in money or players.
I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil
