Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Good point plus Gabby Sanchez is their too, here is what's interesting, once Myers is called up Joyce might be out there. If Kelly Johnson sticks at 2b, then Joyce could be looking at lack of playing time because you will have a Myers, Jennings , Zobrist OF.Comment

So I'll be dealing Price either at the deadline or the offseason. It will be a package deal but a young starter will be the centerpiece. Right now, subject to change, is my top 5 SP trade targets. Matt Harvey, Shelby Miller, Tyler Skaggs, Tajuan Walker and Dylan Bundy if trade within divisionComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
So in my Twins franchise the Pirates were looking for a closer, so I think I may have ripped them off for Starling Marte and Kyle Mcpherson for Glen Perkins. I don't know to much about the Pirates system, or the Twins for that matter, but the CPU was ok with it so I just went with it.Comment

Spreadsheet, bro. Find his value, look around a few teams, and get back to us with some ideas, because not everyone can name Cubs prospects off the top of their head."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Lemme start by saying the spreadsheet is awesome, and I've used it multiple times. But some folks in this thread are getting their draws in a bunch when someone comes in asking for trade advice. For years people have been able to come in here and ask for advice on a trade without being told to "Look at the spreadsheet". Also the spreadsheet basically only takes into account player a for prospects. What about trades that involve major leaguers for major leaguers. Not every trade is a major leaguer and the only return is prospects, see Justin Upton trade. Kinda hard to explain, hope I'm making sense.Comment

Most deals in last years thread was in exchange for prospects and I think that's what AC got the spreadsheet idea from.
But like your saying what about a big leaguer for big leaguer.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
The spreadsheet isn't just about prospects guys, it tells the value for players. That letter grade could be a prospect, or a major leaguer, or whatever. Its just that the vast majority of trades for players involve prospects for MLB guys rather than MLB players for MLB players. You mention the Upton trade, but forgot to mention that ATL also gave up 4 talented prospects in the deal alongside Prado.
While the spreadsheet isn't perfect, following the format we've figured for this thread helps keep the thread itself from getting cluttered. It's not a crime to ask you guys to do some research on your own. This thread, as it says in the OP, is to get opinions on trades you've already drawn up and for us to possibly give counter-offers and retorts to it. Not for us to do all of that for you. If you don't like the way it is, you don't have to post in here.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

Blake Beaven and Mike Jacobs for Dexter Fowler? Rockies need pitching bad and a first baseman, oviouly Kacobs isnt a long term answer, but the best first baseman they got is a 63, and Jacobs is a 71, and Beaven is a high B i believe?Ducks, Mariners, Blazers, Lillard, Favre, Iverson, Griffey, Hernandez, Hawks, Wilson,

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
At least is correct. According to the spreadsheet (and my opinion) it would take a Mid-A, Mid-A & High-B.
Sooo maybe:
Package 1:
Javier Baez or Jorge Soler (High-A OSFM/Mid-A OSFM)
Brett Jackson (Low-A SCEA)
Arodys Vizcaino (Low-A SCEA)
Package 2:
Javier Baez or Jorge Soler(High-A OSFM/Mid-A OSFM)
Brett Jackson (Low-A SCEA)
Pierce Johnson (Mid-B OSFM)
Dillon Maples (Mid-B OSFM)
Package 3:
Javier Baez (High-A OSFM)
Jorge Soler (Mid-A OSFM)
Dillon Maples or Pierce Johnson (Mid-B OSFM/Mid-B OSFM)
Package 4:
Javier Baez or Jorge Soler (High-A OSFM/Mid-A OSFM)
Arodys Vizcaino (Low-A SCEA)
Albert Almora (High-B OSFM)
I wouldn't personally do any of these trades - But it was noted to suspend realism, so I just thought I'd throw some names together for you to work with that might be considered a "fair" package.
Hope that helps. If not I'll go back to my corner. lol :wink:Last edited by skow05; 03-20-2013, 03:29 PM.Cubs
