Sometimes this is what it takes.....I battled with the voice in my head for a while now and finally blocked that voice out, then you step up and make the same logical suggestions the voice was making.

Problem is, if you want to make a move to upgrade at SS, You're likely talking about moving someone like Dirks, Avila, Scherzer, or Fister. Plus likely including Porcello and Castellanos (sp?). I just don't see a move to upgrade there being worth it.

Hey whats up! Just looking for some general trade advice here. So for every year of the Show since 09 I have picked a different team for my franchise. For this year I picked the A's to play as in my franchise. I wanted a team in the AL West, and I wanted to pick a team I know very little about. The A's are not a big market or big city team, so I do not hear about them a lot. I have the default 2013 Oakland A's roster. I don't have the ps3 in front of me to list there roster. I have only played three games so far and I am 2-1, so there is plenty of time for me to think about trades.

Basically does anyone have any advice on how you would run an Oakland A's franchise. I wish i could trade their stadium, but I am stuck with it.

So finally got home, turned budget off and wow this thread is a must!! Just messing around I threw some names on the board and Baez for Castellanos straight up the ai accepted (didn't execute tho don't worry) then thought maybe I would take your advice and consider a lower tier ss and started looking around....Tyler Pastronicky caught my eye so threw him on there then added Teheran just because and it accepted that too for just castellanos and I could still have added another player......but anyway. Spreadsheet lists Pastronicky as a low C, but game has him listed as a B potential...B potential intrigues me yet I only give up a low C? Why would that be or am I misinterpreting the spreadsheet?

More of a generic question from the spreadsheet, but how does value compound in your opinion, if I want 1 great prospect back instead of 3 good ones. For example, would 3 Mid B's turn into 1 Low A, and 3 High B's turn into 1 Mid A etc..., or would it depend on the team/ need/ time of year? Thanks, and great work in the thread so far, it has been fun to read.

The AI does not value players properly. You will need to turn Force Trades on so you can make fair trades.

I wouldnt put Dirks in the same class as the others listed here personally, so I actually wouldnt be that upset losing him. Now Avila (mind you only cause of his position), Fister or Scherzer would hurt drastically. But am I even in the ballpark?? Dirks, Porcello and Castellanos for any of the top ss prospects (excluding Profar) Lindor/Baez/Bogaerts

I haven't gotten The Show yet this year but I am a huge O's fan and will most certainly be doing a dynasty with them. I would like to trade Brian Roberts (Yes I know his value is low) what do you guys think I can get for him. I would like someone I can slide in at DH.

how do you know in the game the difference between a high B, mid B and low B

In the roster screen you can sort by potential. I believe it sorts by overall within each potential tier. For example, if you go to the top of the B's you'll see the overall count down like the following:

77
64
59

Then you can tell it goes to the next tier when it starts over like this:

78
75
66
60

Funny how you responded after I just spent over an hour reading a long thread comparing Baez and Castellanos weighing heavily from a Cubs fans point of few....even as a Tigers fan I have to admit that they were pretty accurate with info tho as I wouldn't trade Baez straight up for Cast either....so as a Cubs fan, what else would I have to give you for you to consider?

(And I did say potentially blocked....I don't follow him too closely but do understand he is pretty smooth glove so figured he could adapt to a move well)

Losing Dirks would hurt almost as much as Fister or Scherzer IMO. He has decent fielding ability, which is scarce on the Tigers roster. Who would you replace him with?

We don't. We use "high,mid, and low" to seperate the grade levels here. For example, Jurickson Profar is a high A, and Mike Olt is a low A, Jurickson is better by far, but Olt still has good potential. So, to seperate them, we enforced "three-level grading system" to tell apart the "really good" and "not as good" potentials for each grade letter...

ok im the Cubs i have gotten rid of all my big contracts except for A.Soriano i was hoping you guys could help me find a trade for him.

Hopefully I can get a nice young OF with hitting power, basically what alfonso soriano can alrdy do but younger 24-28 age range and of course their overall prolly wont be as high.

Any Ideas?

I was beginning to feel like I was hijacking the thread again so I started a new one to discuss my thoughts on this.....real quick tho I wouldnt miss Dirks if i knew I had a strong defensive SS. Just my opinion tho. Yes it would create a hole to fill, but SS is premium so I would deal with it.
