The issue is that about 1 out of 3 starts, he has to be bailed out in the 4th inning! Sometimes he gets away with showing a good ERA because the reliever bails him out, and then other times Porcello will come out and only give up like 3-4 hits through 7 innings.

He had about 4 starts where he didn't make it into the 5th. Out of 31, that isn't toooo bad. Especially considering his defense."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

I'm pretty sure OAK comes out on top there, but they don't need another SS"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
So how does everyone handle the team finance issue? Once I start a franchise I can't find a team that can trade any salary higher than what I offer....and I am not talking millions even 420k-460k. 1. Do you turn off finances. 2. Does it balance itself out as season progresses 3. Do you force trades? I wanna leave finances on but I also want to be able to make a few trades.....any advice would be appreciated.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I really appreciate this thread and spreadsheet....been messing around in franchise mode before OSFM drops and i have to say trade logic is still quite a bit off.....as the rangers (favorite team) i was wondering what it would cost to get stanton and surprisingly all it took was olt and moreland.....not realistic, but just want to say thanks as i will be using the spreadsheet to be fair in franchiseComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Thanks for the input as well....a little dissappointed but guess I will be doing the same. I lovethe Iidea of aproving trades here before executing, just hate the idea of no budget. Will have o do some tests whn I get home....gotta imagine if I don't control all teams then the comp controlled teams go crazy with fa signings? But I fear I may have hijacked the thread so mybapologies....thanks again for the input and I will get back on point.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ok, just finished the 2015 season with my Astros and I would like to move 2B Jose Altuve. Offensive production has not been an issue with my team, while defense and pitching have been. I have a younger prospect that I'm ready to being up to the majors. He has 80 Fielding and 99 speed, so unfortunately Altuve becomes the less desired guy.
Altuve's stat line:
2015 - .243 avg, 9 HR, 61 RBI
2014 - .260 avg, 9 HR, 65 RBI
2013 - .283 avg, 17 HR, 69 RBI
Altuve is 25 years old, so he has a long future in this league yet. Has 4 years and $23m left on his contract. I'd really like to acquire some RP's for him as my bullpen is terrible.
What do you guys think would be a fair return? I was thinking maybe 2 A's and 1B Prospect relievers?Comment
