Also, what's everyone's opinion on Porcello? I have him at Low B, mid C, in the spreadsheet but I'd like to gather other opinions on that as well.
There was a rumor that Detriot wanted a Parcello for Andrew Bailey trade. So that should give you an idea of value...

EDIT: Already page 100! And OSFM hasn't even come out!

Never mind, I misread it, it says "Carfado BELIEVES there is an obvious trade between the Red Sox and Tigers"

        Here's the link anyway...

He's a weird case, because they're looking for a closer, and they're looking for a really good return, but there aren't many closers to be included in that good return. I doubt they'd want to take on Bailey's salary, either.

It depends on how if they think Miguel Montero is truly the long term solution. Personally I think they'd hang onto him because of the impact potential he has... I know the frame doesn't fit but I suppose that Buster Posey would be a good comp considering Trahan has the potential to have the same skill set as Posey.

Porcellos good, I just think he's a tad overrated. He really isn't that special of a pitcher. He's just a solid mid to back of the rotation type guy. His ERA has never been under 4.50 (FIP has never been under 3.90) and mysteriously his WAR has been above 2 in each of his big league seasons. I say that because none of the other numbers he has are particularly special.

I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

I hate to say before seeing how Detroit uses him this season, but I'm leaning towards a mid C. He showed signs of being a solid #3 or 4 pitcher, but he's too inconsistent to maintain a starting job at the MLB level IMO.

Obviously not the same amount of talent, though.

He's a FIP-breaker. FIP assumes average BABIP, yet Porcello plays with t-ball infield defense and has an above average GB%. He's also only 24.

Really? His half/half and month-to-month stats seem fairly close.

As the Mariners, what would it take (looking for names/positions) to get Luke Hochevar from the Royals?

I like to keep it realistic, and reports have it that KC has a high asking price on him. That change anything?

Nah, I've seen that report, it's posturing. He has like a 2:1 K/BB ratio lol. Decent enough FIP but his fastball is trending down. He's a league average starter being paid at a league average price with high expectations because of draft status.

Also, what would it take to get Buchholz from the Bo-Sox if they're out of contention by the deadline?

The Royals just want a legit prospect back in return which is sort of bewildering... Hochevar is just awful but he still has the potential to front a rotation in GMDM's eyes. This late in his career there are flashes of him being legit like when he outdueld David Price in August or September. Basically, the Royals are afraid that he'll go somewhere and win 15 games and be legit.
