Why you would give up Jimenez for a reliever.. lol."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm along the lines of Lucroy being a part of the Brew Crew core just like Braun and that he won't be dealt. Brantly however...I think you've got something there with JPA coming back the other way. I'd aim for a deal with the FishFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Because I have plans to keep both Arencibia and Thole for the long run.
Anyways, looking at Matt Reynolds and Jordan Walden.
Delabar has been pitching really well out of the bullpen with a 0.00 ERA in a bunch of appearances so I was thinking of Matt Reynolds (who has been struggling) and Tony Campana (Arizona has a surplus of outfielders) for Delabar.
I could also do Jordan Walden (who is underperforming) for A.J. Jimenez or Cecil/Loup (preferably Cecil).Comment

With Montero, Trahan, Bethancourt, Gattis, and McCann, neither of those teams need catchers. And neither need relievers, either, but they'd do Delabar for Campana because Campana is horrible and Delabar is amazing and it'd be a rip."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Excellent, thanks to all for the help - ended up going for the Rivero/Toles for Gentry route. These trades aren't nearly as easy to pull off when you have invested so much time playing with them (I play a lot of minor league games), and that's a big reason why I need the help - tend to overrate my own.Last edited by Coper3000; 06-23-2013, 01:39 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
AC:
The reason I think you should scrap the Lucroy and Brantly deals are because there is quite a bit of doubt that either of those guys would get traded.
My take on the Brantly deal:
Why would the Marlins do this? Brantly is probably already very solid at catcher and WILL be better. Plus he is 3 or 4 years younger, cheaper, and the Marlins are in total rebuild mode so there is no reason to go older.
If they are looking to get a few more prospects, I think they would trade the few amount veterans they have to the playoff contenders at the deadline, instead of trading Brantly.
If Avila is actually to be rumored in real life to be a possible trade candidate than I think he would be a much better option.
From what you said about Ryan Hannigan, it seems like he wouldn't be too hard to get, it just depends on how bad he is sucking I guess.Denver Broncos

I haven't seen anything on Avila IRL but he's popular among Jays fans.
He's playing turribly lol."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

What does it matter how good Brantly is when this is the Marlins we're talking about? If he's good, he's gonna get expensive, and I'm giving them a very good prospect in Lugo.

I just see don't see any reason at all why they would trade Brantly. I get that Lugo is a good, but so is Brantly and Brantly has already established that he is solid behind the dish at the MLB level and he is still very young.

I think you should go after Suzuki or Hannigan. They might be sucking right now, but you might be able to hit well with them and you should at least be making more contact than you are with JP.Denver Broncos

I don't think that really warrants it to be 100% realistic, which you are going for. And isn't JP going to be getting expensive as well?

No, they're sucking really, really horribly, I mean even worse than JP lol."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
AC I would skip out on Lucroy...Brantley I am 50/50 on if your talking 100% real...I get what you are saying with the JP/Money Marlins thing but also agree with the age/prospect part from the other side so I am undecided there.
Avila would be a solid addition in my opinion. I dont see why the Tigers wouldn't move Avila and a position they have surplus of for JP and say a solid reliever since their bullpen is brutal.
On a different note...what are your thoughts about our Blue Jays (11 game winning streak) should do now that Reyes is ready. Would you keep Kawa up and go with 7 man bullpen? If so what reliever would be going? I would say send Wagner down since he wont need waivers but he has been solid so Im not sure
