Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
That would be an awful trade for the D-Backs. Skaggs is the best lefthanded pitching prospect in all of baseball and has the potential to be a staff ace. In comparison, Gallardo has barely reached 200 innings in each of the last 2 seasons (207.1 in 2011, 204.0 in 2012). On top of that Gallardo's ERA is 4.78 and his FIP at 4.06 suggests that he's not having a very good year.
Yes, the D-Backs need starting pitching but Gallardo isn't going to change the course of their season.... There are better pitchers out there that could be had for Tyler Skaggs.
I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

Sounds like the DBacks would also be getting John Axford or Jim Henderson as well.............hasn't their bullpen been bad this year?Last edited by Shock1011; 07-04-2013, 02:06 PM.| Brewers | Packers | Angels | Bucks | Badgers |Comment

Yeah the D-Backs have had some issues towards the back end with Heath Bell, J.J. Putz and David Hernandez... My guess is that they'll probably try to kill two birds with one stone and maybe that's what they're trying to do with the Brew Crew trade for both Gallardo and Axford/Henderson.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
If the Snakes are willing to give Bauer for Didi Gregorius, Skaggs can't be safe.
Sending Jarrod Parker + Ryan Cook for Cahill wasn't the smoothest move from KT either.
In fact, Gallardo is a better return than Gregorius or Cahill imo. Gallardo has a 75-51 record, a 3.75 career ERA, 1.31 WHIP (not great), but a very solid 9.0 K/9 (exactly 1018 Ks in 1018 IP). He's got the strikeout stuff needed to be successful in the desert.
With guys like Delgado, Bradley, Holmberg, and Shipley, they aren't lacking for P prospects either (with Holmberg being a nice LHP).
If the Snakes can get a decent prospect P coming back also, I think KT would do it.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

I think the D-Backs are looking for players with grit like Kirk Gibson said. With Bauer I honestly think it was a make up issue. Bauer clashed with the front office a lot and it think it cooked their grits.
That was a massive blunder trading Parker and Cook for Cahill. Cahill has never really struck me as a front of the rotation type.
Acquiring Gallardo would easily blow getting Gregorius and Cahill out of the water. My whole thing about it is, his velocity is declining and he's only posted 200 innings twice. The D-Backs need a guy that can fit right up there with Ian Kennedy.
My thinking is they can do better than Gallardo with all the depth they have in their system. If they really do trade Skaggs for Gallardo then they are cheating themselves.
I agree though, Kevin Towers isn't exactly the guy I'd trust with a whole host of talented pitching prospects.

Okay, I'm gonna shoot this down.
One, Skaggs for Gallardo would probably be a big win for Milwaukee, Gallardo is seriously trending the wrong way.
Two, this:

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Control all 30 teams, so any trade is possible, but I am running with the O's, we're 6.5 games out of first coming up to the deadline. Dying need of a starter and I am looking at the Phillies as a trade partner who are in rebuild mode for the future. Dylan Bundy is 100% off limit, Kevin Gausman I'd like to keep but if it's a MUST I'd move him.
I'm looking for Cliff Lee 9-5 with a 3.30 ERA.
My trade idea is
Eduardo Rodriguez & Jonathan Schoop for Cliff Lee.
Schoop's triple a stats .284 Avg, 7 HR, 73 H, 41 RBI. Rodriguez is in single a still.
Thoughts?Last edited by Noles4ever; 07-04-2013, 06:13 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ok... So I am about to get this game and i am going to do a yankees "rebuilding" project. I have a couple of trades I would like to pull off and have some questions about them.
I do not want to have to trade OF Mason Williams or C Gary Sanchez but if I have to trade them,I will make a deal.
I would like to trade for
-OF Giancarlo Stanton
-SS Dee Gordan
-SP Julio Teheran
Could I real realistically make any of these trades? Also, if you have any trade ideas that would help me get younger let me know.Comment

Stanton is probably availble knowing Mia's front office, BUT you're going to give up a lot of prospects to make it realistic.
I'm not sure about Gordan don't really follow dodgers.
Teheran is a sure NO. IRL is on fire in the Braves rotation and with Hudson getting up there in age, and Maholom is a free agent next year so he is the top 3 of their rotation. Definite noComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Teheran is gonna be unrealistic plus you'll have to give up alot
Stanton you could get but idk if he'd fit a rebuild as you'd be giving up alot of prospects for him and you might be better off keeping your prospects. Unless you're planning on getting F/As
Gordon is probably the best option since you could get him pretty cheap compared to the other two. Maybe you could give the Dodgers David Adams, Jose Campos, and Corey Black for Gordon, Would have to get opinions on this| Brewers | Packers | Angels | Bucks | Badgers |Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I also want to trade big contracts and older players.
-Hiroki Kuroda-(I think a contender would take him)
-Phil Hughes
-Joba Chamberlain
-Curtis Granderson-(I am still 50/50 with Granderson, but if I get a good trade i will do it)
-Mark Texeria-(I know unrealistic)
-Alex Rodriguez-( think the dodgers would take him)
If you know what player(s) I can get for these guys let me know.Comment

Hughes and Joba. Eh depends if you want pitchers or not. You could probably trade Hughes, Pineda + Mason and Gary Sanchez and other prospects for Stanton.
Grandy to SF for Crick
Tex to ? Depends how teams are doing, however not many teams are in need of a 1B, plus Tex is declining. Maybe the Mets if they are playing for October.
Arod to Dodgers, sure. Won't get much back though. Eh better to keep him and then release him in the offseason.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
The Dbacks would not trade Skaggs for Yovanni Gallardo... The Cahill trade was questionable but Cahill was a young pitcher under a team friendly contract. Also a groundball pitcher in a hitter friendly ballpark. And I would say Skaggs is probably a higher rated prospect than Parker was.
The Bauer for Gregorius swap actually made a lot of sense. Gregorius looks to be a solid option at SS with plus fielding. He's provided a chance for stability at a position that was a rotating door for a couple of years
I've been skeptical of KT's trades but they've turned out okay (Upton trade and Bauer trade still up in the air) but Skaggs for Gallardo would be a huge huge win for the BrewersComment
