I think if you did JPA + Nay + Lind for Lucroy + KRod would be pretty good because here's my thinking. In real life the Brewers are going to have to make a tough choice if Coulter pans out (In the game he's become a stud in every 1 of my sims) They could end up trading Lucroy or him but it'd be tough. Has JP ever played 1B because I know how you hate his D as a catcher?

In 3 or 4 years the team could move JP to 1B since they wont have Corey Hart past this year most likely. The team would be pretty good I'd think

    C Coulter
    1B JP
    2B Gennett
    3B Nay
    SS Segura
    LF Braun
    CF Gomez
RF Probably Logan Schafer or Victor Roache.

It might be a bit unrealistic but I don't think its something that is completely out of the question

There's no need to move JP to first base. Hunter Morris is waiting, as is Gamel on return and Hart.

In every full season in the minors, Morris has performed, even if he is "struggling" hitting .240 in his first time at AAA. Arencibia has a 162 game average of .222/.268/.439 with 31 HR. The Brewers have no need for him, and it's not like he's a special bat you need to keep in the lineup.

The key is JP wouldn't be a FA until 2017 when his arb time runs out. He'd be nothing more than a stopgap for Coulter if we didn't get another catcher from elsewhere.

For how good Morris has been though he could be a bust. I mean in his best year in the Minors he struck out 117 times in 136 games. I think he could be a pretty decent player but I highly doubt he'll be anything really special. If we're lucky I'm thinking Morris could end up with offensive stats close to Corey Hart minus about 5 or so HRs a year...but we'll find out soon enough as the Brewers could call him up this year. I might be completely wrong

EDIT: Also just to add in I think Gamel could be done if he has any hiccups in his recovery this time, and Corey Hart is likely going to be gone after this year

To be fair, A.) JPA has an iso over 200, and B.) You guys can't work under the assumption that your prospects will work out. You should always assume the worst, because if things end up working out, you end up with surplus, which is better than deficiencies of assets. So IF Morris works out, then you have a good problem on your hands. It's what the Cards do lol.

JPA isn't key to the deal. Remember that Lind is RAKING on a solid contract and that Nay is actually a factor that makes me a bit weary of this deal. That kid can rake. JPA is a stop gap who could work with Maldonado in a time share / platoon (not sure of handedness), with some marginal value as he's rated quite well.

And Ubernoob, your .268 OBP is misleading, as wOBA is a much, much more efficient and useful stat. JPA's wOBA is .304. It ain't great but for a catcher, a .304 wOBA with a .217 ISO can be pretty useful in a video game.

I'm not at my ps3 right now but was wondering what would be a good trade for Hanley Ramirez in my Yankees Franchise? Still in my first season. Thanks in advance!

Yeah, like I had said I was basing it off of real life as I haven't started up the show since a few days before it came out.

Lind is a FA after this year isn't he? I don't think the Brewers would be willing to pay out or give him a long term deal to keep him when they have Yuni/Gonzalez/Hart/Gamel/Morris already all slotting in at first and over his career Lind isn't head and shoulders above them.

That's exactly my thinking with prospects especially one who's only played well in A + AA thus far. I agree with you on JP being a stop gap my 1B idea was strictly based off of his Defense. If he is doing really well offensively still when Coulter comes up then he fills a hole the Brewers could still potentially have until they fix it. Also if Nay progresses well he would fit nicely on the team as the Brewers really don't have a big power potential guy in their farm system that I know of since Morris probably will only be a decent power hitter in the 20 HR range

EDIT: Is Nay in the OSFM or did you get a CAP of him elsewhere?

I'm only one month into the season so I was just looking to get a example of what I might have to give up. I'll play a month or more and then let you guys know about individual stats, team standing, etc.

Thank you for the quick response tho

1.) Yuni and Gonzalez are NOT legit 1B options. I speak from experience with Gonzalez. Loved the guy in his half season but.. nah.
2.) Hart is probably gone. In my game, I'm pretty sure I'll be signing him elsewhere. (30 team control <3 )
3.) Gamel and Morris are what I was talking about. You can't BANK on them.
4.) Lind will be cheap, I've simmed before, plus, it doesn't matter; if he performs for the rest of the year/doesn't fall off a cliff, I'm just gonna manually resign him to reflect his team options like in real life.

30 team controllers go hard all day erry day

I THINK he might have been in Hybrid 2.0 but I also think I made him myself. I did use the same method I used in creating the ratings system for the Blue Jays' OSFM (I was generally in charge of ratings for that) so it's not a different system. Linear conversions using the 20-80 scale.

Are you gonna do the Brewers deal, AC? Or are you gunshy to use up your compliment of trades after what happened with Ackley?

I think it would be a fine deal (just please not Izturis...add a prospect instead) if/when the Brewers are donezo.

I'm still unsure on the realism. Many conflicting opinions. I will not make this trade if it's unrealistic.

I'm not particularly worried about the Ackley trade, and I don't want to get rid of him too quickly. I just don't know about this one. I have 0 idea of what works here.
