Loney, Scott, Joyce and Johnson are doing average (respectively). I'll look into getting them a catcher and some first base help. DH is occupied by Joyce with Myers in left field and Zobrist in right field. Johnson's taking up second base so I'll look into catcher. Thanks for the help!

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
July 31st in my M's Franchise in 2014. Boston has been on a losing streak and now sits 11 games out in the East and 6.5 out of the Wildcard behind teams like the Rangers,Yankees,Blue Jays, Tigers, Orioles, Angels and even the Twins.
So I am thinking they now are in the seller group, joining Houston (15 GB), Oakland (18.6 GB), the Mets (16.5), Phillies (18.5) and Marlins (22.0), Cubs (19.5), Pirates (21.0), Rockies (9.0).
The Giants have won 4 in a row and 7 out of 10 and are now tied with the Dodgers (also winning 7-10) for 2nd place in the NL West 1 game back of Arizona. The Padres dropped to 3rd/4th (1.5 games back).
I just made some deals for Arizona (got Cliff Lee) and the Padres (got Peavy and A. Ramirez).
I now want to make a deal for the Giants..
They need help behind the plate (Posey is on the DL for 3 weeks), help in the OF (last years adds A. Soriano is hitting .262 with 2 HR, and S. Hairston is on the DL), also could use a upgrade at 2B and possibly SS as Crawford is a B. Ryan clone (great glove no offense).
I was thinking about doing a deal with Boston, grabbing M. Napoli and putting him behind the plate until Posey returns, then moving him to 1B and Belt to the OF.. Also thought about adding S. Victorino for LF as he is the Sox's #4 OF, (they have A. Either starting in RF), and could promote B. Bentz or B. Jacobs to be the new #4.
Napoli is only hitting .219 with 11 HR and 37 RBI, but last season hit .281 with 48 HR and 116 RBI. Victorino is hitting .239 with 11 HR and 25 RBI.
Figure it's a buy low opportunity, but the Giants are weak at prospects other then young pitching which Boston already has a lot of in De La Rosa,Webster,Barnes,Ranaudo,Workman,Owens and Britton.
Any thoughts Spreadsheet says 2 High C's for each.
Looking at the roster, I was thinking maybe 1B A. Villalona (65B) currently in AA, and OF F. Peguero (62C) if I just went with the same positions...
Another twist would be the Giants dealing P. Sandoval (making 11.7 mil) for Napoli, Victorino, and Middlebrooks, (not realistic) but seams fair as spreadsheet has Pablo worth 3 High B.
Another option could be a deal with the Pirates for Russell Martin, and J. Tabata.
Where then I could deal someone like Heston or Crick, to give Pittsburgh another young SP to go with Cole and Tallion
Or I could deal with Houston getting K. Morales for 1B and J. Elmore for 2B, move B. Belt to LF and still need to find a C.
Houston also could use young SP, as I have already dealt B. Norris and B. Peacock away along with P. Humber.
I'd look into sending Russell Martin to SF if he's in the last year of his contract. Otherwise, 3 weeks isn't very long, so I don't think a team would trade there, they'd probably just fill in with what they have.
I wouldn't even consider trading the Panda under any circumstances.
Also, Crick is too good to trade for Tabata/Martin. Maybe Heston, but not Crick.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm heading into my first offseason with the Cardinals soon and want to open up some space in my rotation and move some pieces around in the bullpen. I'm thinking about trading either Lynn (14 wins, 3.3 ERA) or Jaime Garcia (injured all season) and also trading Motte (injured all season). I'm not sure what teams would be interested in each, or if the values on Garcia and Motte are lower because of missing a full season.Comment

Are their values diminished because of their injuries? Also, I'm planning on pairing what SP I choose with David Freese possibly. What would my highest possible return from the Yankees be?Comment

Was thinking of some possible CPU and CPU trades and I need some help. I'm not familiar with the Tampa Bay Rays so could someone tell me which positions they need help at. I know that their rotation is already in beast mode but other than Wil Myers and Evan Longoria, I don't know them very well.
Thanks in advance for any help...Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm not sure Boston would sell if out 6.5 games with 2 months to go. Lots can happen and their fan base would be extremely unhappy with that.

I am going to go the Pittsburgh route. Also looking at the Giants rolling the dice on James McDonald as a new #5 SP, McDonald was 2-14 last year for the Pirates and this year is 3-13. I can't see them bringing him back. Spread sheet says 2 High C's, but with that record?
Here is my final deal
Martin/Tabata/McDoanld
for
Heston/Villalona/Surkamp
I am then thinking about doing a Heath Hembree (82B) who has 25 saves in AAA to the Astros for 2B Jake Elmore (73B), 1B/3B Mark Reynolds (never did fit in with the Astros and is in AAA now taking AB's away from Singleton) and OF V. Wells...
Will throw in some other players on the Giants side to help out on the salary side of things, but Overall gives the Giant some more depth and gives the Astros a future CP, with Veras gone to DetroitComment

Both the Yankees and Angels could go for a Lynn/Garcia + Freese package. I'd try to figure out what positions you want in return before hammering out the details. The Yankees have some depth at RHP and OF. The Angels are pretty bad throughout the farm system.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
What are some teams that would need a backup utility infielder in Maicer Izturis. I'm looking to move him to add an extra outfielder to my roster. Also, I'm what I could get for him. He's performing more on the average side this season for me through two months. Any ideas?Comment

Ryan Dempster
To the Indians for Danny Salazar and Ronny Rodriguez.
John Lackey
To the Los Angeles Angels for CJ Cron and Hank Conger
Koji Uehara
To the Detroit Tigers for Austin Schotts
Shane Victorino
To the Mariners for Stefan Romero and Victor Sanchez
Stephen Drew
To the Reds for Jesse Winker
Jon Lester
To the Los Angeles Dodgers for Joc Pederson and Chris Withrow
These are all very rough, as I have no stats or contenders to work with. You should obviously wait until the deadline for these.
Oh, and I forgot.
Middlebrooks to the Cubs for Brett Jackson and Josh Vitters.
*these are all assuming that you're playing with OD sets*
Okay 1 and a half weeks from the all-star break sitting at 59-38 doing the sim 5 play 1 thing.. 5.5 games up on the Yankees in the division which is putting me in more of a buy mode rather than rebuild mode.
Positions that need help:
SS: Drew dislocated his ankle and is out 6+ months and Bogaerts has a broken hand out for 3 more weeks.
OF:
Victorino .266/.333/.381
Gomes .280/.367/.527 16HR 51RBI
Gomes is playing out of his mind but his average has dropped about 40 points and I'm afraid he's not going to sustain these numbers.
3B: Would still like to deal Middlebrooks. Hitting .273/.324/.399 7HR 33RBI
Teams out of it:
Baltimore
Seattle
Houston (24-70 36.5GB lol)
Atlanta
New York Mets
Miami
Pittsburgh
Chicago Cubs
San Diego
Minnesota
Chicago White Sox
Kansas City
A fill in at SS, a good OF, and a good return on Middlebrooks would be great thanks guys.Comment

I was offered Dayan Viciedo for Emilio Bonifacio ...Dayan is a B in the game while Boni is a low B ...what would I have to add to Boni to make it "fair" or is it fine as is?Comment
