Because you could do it that way in ASB?

What purpose did ASB do it that way for?

I guess I'm not thinking straight, I assumed every batters count would be random.
What's the reason for having the first batters count being two pitches & the second batters count being four pitches?

While I completely understand the appeal of this feature and I will try it for curiosity sake, I don't plan on using it. Something about generated pitch counts just seems funny to me. I want to be a part of the whole at bat. And to be honest, I don't feel like it is as much of a rush to get through games now that we can carry over saves. I don't know, maybe I will change my mind, but I probably won't even use it that much.

I was just looking for confirmation that each batter will have a random amount of pitches already on the count when they walk to the plate.

The 2 for fist batter/4 for next was just an example.

I didn't play ASB (and I know you weren't asking me) but to me it makes sense not to use a static number because if you do, that static number has to be 2 unless you want to step up to the play only to be told you struck out on three pitches.

So under that scenario, the only options would be 2-0, 1-1, 0-2.

Maybe that's what they will do but I was thinking their would be more options than just those three counts.

I don't believe you could do that in ASB.

I'm fairly certain the choices were....

                    Random count
Hitters count(which was a random hitter count)
Pitchers count(which was a random pitcher count)
                    OR
any of the counts(0-1....0-2....1-1...1-2...etc) and if you chose those you would ALWAYS get that count.

I do not remember a cycling of counts in exact numbers.

Re: What are your expectations for Generated Counts

For generated pitch count, will it always generate to where its always one pitch away from either being a walk or strikeout? (3-1, 1-2, etc..)
Or will it be completely random? (0-1, 2-0, etc..)

I can see why some people might want to use the generated counts feature but I will never use it. It could take hours to finish a game and I wouldn't care in the least. This is baseball.

No....it will be "random" with the coded sequences as Ramone spoke about(the MLB average counts) but it is not always the end of the at bat in one regards or the other.
For instance you can have a 1-2 count and take the pitch for a ball....foul one off....etc. It is not always the end of play or AB.

My expectations for Generated Counts is that counts will be generated.
