Playing with my PS controllers on my PC for so long has made me numb to PS3 era graphics. I just can't do it anymore unless it's some PS2 game in 1080p or a PSN game. The PS3 is just a poor system imo that will be long forgotten in due time. Don't get me wrong, I had some of the best experiences on it I have ever had in gaming... it's just that the system is too archaic by today's standards. The image quality of PS3 games was barely acceptable to me 4 years ago let alone now with a beastly PC and PS4 to boot. My 1080p TV can never look back.
Who will stick with the PS3 version instead of getting the PS4 version?

Re: Who will stick with the PS3 version instead of getting the PS4 version?
I bought my PS3 in 2008.
I will say though, I was going to wait for PS4 until black friday, but I know for an absolute FACT that when I see PS4 gameplay/screenshots, and compare them to the PS3 The Show '14 videos/screenshots, there will absolutely no way I can sit and play the PS3 knowing there is a MUCH better looking, smoother, more crisp version on PS4.
I said it before on here I'll say it again. I'm a college student with a part time job and not a crazy amount of hours per week, but I'm saving up little by little every paycheck. Only a few more paychecks and I'll be good to go. Once I hear the release date tomorrow, I'll know when I can expect to make my purchase
There's two kinds of people..ones that except greatness and have bought a PS4 strictly for this game like myself...or those that will bash the idea of getting a PS4 because they simply can not afford it. It's that simple really. I've seen games on the PS4 already that made my jaw drop like Tomb Raider for example. I am extremely excited for now finally Progressive Field may finally get some love.Comment

Re: Who will stick with the PS3 version instead of getting the PS4 version?
I mainly only play sports games and I wasn't impressed enough with them to get a PS4 on release day.
For me the PS3 has plenty of life left in it yet as you know The Show is going to be excellent again this year in current gen, plus I want to buy the World Cup 2014 game in April/May and I still have GTA V and The Last of Us collecting dust so would like to complete those before I get a PS4.
I'll take a look at what FIFA and NHL are doing come August/September and if they make big strides I will consider it but most likely I'm thinking mid-late 2015 for me to pick up a PS4.
The only thing that may change my mind is if my PS3 packs in anytime before then which is a possibility.Comment

I expect greatness from the PS4…..after a few dev cycles. This comes from decades of gaming and understanding how games develop better and better through a cycle.
I am sure 14 on the PS4 will be visually stunning. But I will bet your bottom dollar that 15 and 16 will have true next gen gameplay and all the kinks and bugs will be worked out far better and that's when it will truly blow away PS3.
Could be wrong……and If I am…..I will be getting a PS4 a lot sooner than I thought….but I rather wait and see.
Anyway…I am really excited for today….for both versions……I can't help but get sucked into the hype.

Re: Who will stick with the PS3 version instead of getting the PS4 version?
I get that. Honestly I'm not bashing the people that want to keep their PS3s, but the reality is these systems have truly run their courses and will be obsolete in the next 2 years. If people did in fact have the money there would be no hesitation in an upgrade in systems. It's easier to make excuses and say I love my PS3 and will wait years for the PS4 regardless how amazing it is- then to actually just admit they don't have the cash flow. I feel 100% when people see the difference of power, graphics, and details...that they will sell their own wives and girlfriends to try and get one of these amazing systems. Luckily I have two PS4s in my house just in case one goes...one is in my 9 year olds room and he plays that Starving game.....and the other in my man cave waiting for baseball glory.Comment

Re: Who will stick with the PS3 version instead of getting the PS4 version?
It's really going to depend if I can get my hands on a ps4. It's still relatively difficult to find one without going too far out of your way. When the ps4 version of The Show comes out and I still don't have a system I'll just stick withe the ps3.Comment

Re: Who will stick with the PS3 version instead of getting the PS4 version?
Why?! For better graphics? I mean seriously. There are things that the PS3 can do that the PS4 cant and until the hardware matches the software, Im sticking with the PS3. I waited 3 cycles to get my PS3 and Im glad I did with all the horror stories Ive read about the piano fats. The only thing I lost was BC. My slim is 3 times as large as the day one PS3 and has much better hardware.
I can wait. When Sony gets the hardware right, Im all in. Until then, My PS3 is just fine.
There is absolutely no reason for you to give 2 squats why someone is not getting a PS4.
Its really none of your concern and no one here is bashing the 4, yet you are bashing them.Comment

For most of us Mommy and Daddy don't pay for everything anymore. It's not that we can't afford it, there are other things to spend $400 on then a video game system that has only been out for 4 months.Comment

Re: Who will stick with the PS3 version instead of getting the PS4 version?
After my experiences with the fat PS3s, and the lack of enjoyable games available, I'll never buy a new console until at least a year after it's release. Hopefully MLB 15 on the PS4 is great.Comment
