Did anyone play with the Jays yet?
Any suggestions comments on the motions stances?(besides Joey's..I've got that)...in particular...Carter/Olerud(I thought he came out pretty good! )...I'm pretty sure Candy Maldonado had that straight up stance....and Lee with the crouch.....Kent has his own in the game....from the looks of it Gruber looks right
    Well .....let me know.

    Thanks.

I am indeed doing a 1950-1970....I guess I could go 5 years in either direction to make it a 25 year spanned set.
Storm is attempting(I say attempting meaning time...not talent....believe me I know how much of a time eater this is...but I'm "fortunate" enough to have grown kids, no life and an understanding wife!....add that in to the fact that I absolutely MUST have some sort of hobby...or I get in all sorts of trouble....and it's the Perfect Storm ) a pre 1950 set....so we'd have most of the timeline covered!

Haha. No need to elaborate on your use of the word "attempting". I, in no way, was going to take it like that. I knew what you meant.

And, Knight, thanks for the plug! As he said, I'm working on having these rosters of 11 to 12 teams ranging from 1908 to 1934. (and if Knight only goes as far back as 1950, that leaves me with more teams availabe, that wouldn't be availabe if I limited myself to no later than 1939. (for example, teams that weren't around before the '40s.) Should have that done sometime in the next couple of weeks. And, I too am "fortunate" enough to have the free time to do these rosters, for the most part, uninterrupted. Outside of the 8 hours a day I work, and the 2 to 3 hours, almost everyday, that I spend playing basketball, I have a pretty free schedule to work on rosters. No kids, no wife, and don't sleep near enough, so I have the free time. Just don't have the resources ,as far as pictures are concerened, to feel like I've made an accurate enough CAP (physically). Also, having never seen ANY of the guys I'm making play, I'm having to do quite a bit of research on their styles and, with pitchers, I'm trying to learn as much as I can about what they threw and how they threw it. Anyone that thinks they could help with the resources, or thinks they know a good bit about someone from the era, PM me. Help would be appreciated

Just wondering, not criticizing, but why were some years chosen, for example: 85 Cardinals instead of the 82 or 67 team; 77 Phillies instead of the 80 team ; the 95 Blue Jays instead of the 92 or 93? Remember, not complaining, just wondering.

So many great teams with great players. That's why SCEA needs to hire Knight and make a MLB the Show "Legends" where every team imaginable could be created...I think anyway.

Legit questions, but I think he was going more for matchups. He made the 85 Royals, so based on that, he chose the 85 Cards because the 2 played in the WS that year. So, anyone that wants to, can relive that match up now. And, I think he did go with the 92 Jays. The 95 he put in the list was a mistake.

Me too....I played on an all star team when I was 12 and we wore the Astros rainbow jerseys. Even had the orange hats. Every team we played against thought we were cool. Thats also been 22 years ago so there you go.

Like storm said...I tried to get some sort of matchup..

...and where possible....I tried to switch it up from what I did last year(although I have repeated a lot also)
Also...in some cases...I looked at the lineup and the stats and how they matched up with the lineup logic. If it was way off....I saw if another year looked better. This was keeping the season players in mind(like myself!)

Alrighty. Sounds good to me. What led me to the question was I was playing as those 85 Cardinals. Approaching the end of the game I was looking at finishing with Bruce Sutter...well Bruce Sutter wasn't on the '85 Cardinals, I had forgotten.

Also, he did end up going with the '80 Phillies team instead of '77. Knight asked our opinion on some of the teams and a lot of us voted for the '85 Cardinals. I love that team.

I know what you mean with RBI. When I played as the Astros a couple nights ago, it was great going through that lineup. In fact, I posted pics of the game and one was Glenn Davis. I believe I wrote something to the effect of anyone who played RBI Baseball would love to see him strolling to the plate in that rainbow uni. Speaking of RBI Baseball, every day during lunch at work we hook a modded Dreamcast up to the projector and play either RBI 2 or 3 - we switch between the two. I love playing RBI Baseball, but nothing can compare to '09 The Show with Knights classic rosters.

I'm at work tonight....I should have the '97 Marlins tomorrow night when I get home(late) or at the least sometime Sunday.

                          Thanks.

I was not a Dodgers fan growing up, but my two slightly older uncles with which I lived, were the biggest Colorado Dodger fans. Every single summer night, they would be out in the car, listening to the Dodgers on the old AM radio. Those two would then give the recap the next morning at breakfast. What a special time. Rare times I would be allowed to join them, but hearing the voice of Vin Scully cemented my love for this game. So I can feel your memories, being in SoCal during that time was probably pretty cool.
It sure was and still is! I'm much too young to remember the '63 team (wasn't around yet) , but I guess Koufax and Drysdale will have to do. Not much offense with those clubs though. But beggars can't be choosers!
