Great job on the Rockies. My only suggestion other than the ones posted above have to do with Larry Walker's arm strength. I could easily just bump it up myself, but I recall someone mentioning Dunston needed a bump earlier, so I thought I'd mention it for Larry...he had a gun too!

    Appreciate the work man!
I noticed this too, but chalked it to having the arm strength lower in the sliders. I have never messed with the ratings so I wouldn't even know but as a real player LW had an A+ arm. No one went first to third on him. The only thing about Walker's appearance, SCEA's long hair isn't really long. In the game he looks clean cut but he had some flowing locks.

On a side note. I found a 2005 ESPN Encyclopedia for $1 on Ebay. Disappointing though because it has nothing on teams. Not like the old encyclopedia. Great on individuals and it gets me through the 80's, 90's and half of the 00's (my last encyclopedia was from 1978). I love having the book open to check season and career stats on players quickly. I know Baseball-Reference and Baseball Almanac does a nice job but I don't always have my laptop on. I wish the real Baseball Encyclopedia (McMillian) was still being published. That was a thorough publication. To this day, my 1978 is always an arm length away.

No.....they don't publish the Encyclopedia anymore? I have the last edition(ninth I believe)....and have been waiting for ten(or eleven)...forever...thinking that they have just been gathering info and waiting for sufficient time in between(these are TOMES people.....big green MONSTERS!
      That's disappointing.

Will do on Walker. I knew he was a very good OF'er and if you noticed...I did make him better than I usually make "normal" RF'ers......but I didn't want to overdo it(memory(meaning mine) has a way of playing tricks on you...the good guys are always great....the great guys were unstoppable!)....
I'll give him a nice little boost.

      Thanks.

        Two to go!

Here is the set with the 2001 Arizona D-Backs added.
There must be something about 1st basemen...because Grace looks pretty damn good.(to go along with my Hernandez and Galarraga) Finley and Williams look right on too.(IMO)
I was a little busy() around WS time in 2001....so I didn't get to appreciate that series.....but it just proves....it takes two, maybe three great pitchers(man...Johnson and Schilling were sick in '01) and at least one hot hitter(Gonzalez is the best hitter in this set stat-wise...I forgot he had 57 homers in '01!...AND batted .325)
Heck...Williams, Grace and Finley had marginally good years and they beat a pretty good Yankee squad.
Get hot with some good players in the playoffs and anything can happen!

Ooooo nice....looking forward to taking the field with '01 DBacks. I saw a ton of DBax games that season and it was a fun squad to watch.

              Much appreciated!

I just love what has been done with the pitchers. With the Rockies, I have dropped back to back games against Doc Ellis and Whitey Ford. Doc Ellis never pitched in the center of the plate. I actually drew 4 walks off of him but I still chased. Whitey Ford mixed his pitches well, but it was that sneaky fastball of his that had me late on so many swings.

I am sure anxious to see how a season is going to transpire with these clubs. Any predictions? We need to be sure to share the outcomes.

                    Yep...Rangers tonight.

                    Hammer.....
Admittedly I don't play much(I instead like to manage only)...but after seeing Randy Johnson's 2001 stat line and his 370+ K's!!!, I just had to face him. He struck me out 15 times. .....I chased everything.
Now.....like I said...that's not saying much because of my "skill"...but I did find myself laughing at each K after about 8.

                      Re: Knight - classic teams

I got a chance to try and avenge the Indians '95 series loss to the Braves and ran into Greg Maddux on the mound. I couldn't hit him to save my life! I got 3 hits and a walk off him and the only way I got to 2nd base was twice on a steal by kenny lofton. Maddux pitched a complete game and struck me out 11 times. Orel Hershiser had a decent game himself pitching 7.2 innings striking out 9 and giving up 1 ER but he gave up 4 overall thanks to Carlos Baerga's 2 HORRIBLE throwing errors that just sailed into the dugout.

I'd say one of the most impressive players faces I saw was Javy Lopez. I got a good view of him taking his helmet off as he struck out 3 times!

You know, I would play MOM exclusively if you could call pitch and location. I only control pitcher and hitter because I have to, and baserunning because I want the control. The rest is auto. I would be a happy camper if auto-swing was incorporated but still have the option to to give the red light, bunt, and hit and run...anyway...

Great news on Johnson, he might ring me up 20 times.

I'm anxious for a season, as well. As far as predictions go, I'm going to say the Series will be the Big Red Machine vs the Indians. Both of those lineups are pretty tough, but I could see the Braves getting in because of their pitching staff, too. It will be my job as the Mets to make sure neither one of those scenarios happen, though.

Cool, Knight. Maybe by the time I get home tonight I'll have 2 new teams to play with. Looking forward to the Padres as well just because of the unis. I played a series against them using Trens rosters a few days ago and their throwbacks are sweet. I am SO looking forward to getting my season under way.
