my few issues with the game so far.

I'm a newbie at this so I only play on Vetran, and i've played with out of the box sliders, nothing changed.

      ----

      -Too many triples by CPU
      -CPU doesn't steal
-My throws to home are always up the third base line, my throws to third at always in between 2nd and 3rd base. Is there a way to throw to a cut off man?
-Too many infield singles, the runners get to 1st base too quickly, and also seem to get from 3rd to home quickly and safely, even with infield in.

Try Pared's sliders on Page 6 of this thread. I also maxed out the CPU aggression for running and have plenty of steals against me. To hit the cutoff man, use L1. One other thing, the manual stealing in the game manual is wrong, it's up and circle to steal 2nd, left and triangle to steal third, and down and square to steal home, or advance them for that matter. You can also use L2 to advance all runners and R2 to return them. With these sliders, I have only had the CPU triple on me twice in four games. Also, turn off the strike zones, hot/cold zones and max out the pitch count slider.

Thanks. But what does turning off the strike zones and hot/cold zones do?

I will max out the pitch count, I see what it does and love the idea of it.

Also: for the cut off man: should I press only R1, then after the cutoff man catches it throw to the base? or hold L1 and the base button?

Turning the hot/cold zones off and the strike zones off will create more walks most likely on your part. Leave the ball cursor on, and it makes you try and paint the corners with just using home plate. It doesn't give you that zone to place the cursor on. The cutoff man is L1 only. After that, throwing to any base is the same as you would normally. I'll post all of my tuning and gameplay below for you:

Remember to do this for both you and the CPU.

Oh, it makes it tougher for me to hit the strikezone, I see. I'm still getting used to the slight difference in the pitching from MVP so I'm already walking alot of guys. When I get the pitching down and start walking no one, I probably will turn the zones off. Thanks for the help and I look foward to your results with the sliders.

Pared/Joe, do you guys think the power needs to come up a little along with errors? I've seen a couple homers and errors here and there, but not many.

I played a game on HOF with Pared's metioned tweaks and had a good game. I hit 2 HR's with D. Lee and one with Ram off Doug Davis. I pitched a complete game with Prior and won 5-1. I also liked the HOF hitting. The variety of this game is great. I was playing on rookie with the Cubs vs Florida and got whipped. Play on HOF here and I win. Pretty cool.

Funny how after I just post this, I gave up back-to-back to Alfo Soriano and Nick Johnson. Be careful what I wish for I guess.

Re: Sooo anything you noticed so far that will need tweaking?

Just played 2 games with the tweaks. Won them both one in a shutout performance and the other with bean town power.

                      Yanks vs Mets

                      3 / 9 / 0 (me)

                      0 / 6 / 0
It was a pitching duel until the mets pulled a sox and left him too long, Shef drove 1 in and Cano hit a two run blast opposite field!. It was over after that RJ continued to dominate and got player of the game.

Re: Sooo anything you noticed so far that will need tweaking?

I found out the batting power slider is more of a contact slider. Lowering the power slider increases the amount of softly hit balls. And, the contact slider is more of a power slider. Increasing the contact slider causes players make HR contact more often. I tried it out with the CPU (power constant at 8), I just keep throwing fat pitches down the middle to the CPU with contact at 0 and they didn't hit many HRs at all. Then, I maxed out the contact slider and the CPU started hitting HRs much more frequently. Right now I'm trying out:

                        User Contact: 6
                        User Power: 7
                        CPU Contact: 14
                        CPU Power: 7

                          Next Bsox vs Jays

                          5 / 7 / 0

                          8 / 9 / 0

In this one i started strong with 3 hits and then trying POWER button for the first time ever and I got a 3 run HR with Varitek!. I went up 4 zip and then it was all quiet but in the 5th and 7th they came back and made it 5 to 6. Then in the 8th i stop that with a shocking HR over the monster by of all people Loretta!. funny thing was, that i was about to PH for him to lol!. It was over after that foulke closed it.

both games featured alot of hit variety, hell the sox game end with a broken bat popup.

You got contact at 0?, thats what i played with in the last two games. Saw the Al hit hard gappers and HR(in the jays game). No errors do, maybe it should be 13 and accuracy down 8.
