I really like the error settings I have. I almost feel if they are any higher on each end, there are many unnatural errors if you know what I mean. My error totals are good, the CPU is a little tricky. +5 seems ok, but I may bump it up a bit. Try it and let me know what you think.

Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks
The only real difference is the CPU contact and power. The classic has a lot less control so I left power at default b/c I was getting pounded at 12. Classic pitching is less precise so I was/am throwing a lot of pitches over the heart of the plate as I get more comfortable with it. I kept my meter ones the same b/c I really like those and they play a hell of a game.Originally posted by JOEdellis

Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks
Ok just played a low scoring affair with contact at minus 5 for both and errors like i said before. Also speed at 13, i think faster speeds= Hard hits, mainly because it is easier to get contact.
Boxscore
2 / 8 / 0
0 / 4 / 1
one error by the AI, which was a routine pop up, misplayed in the sun by bradley.
So if you want errors by the AI, set it to 18 or 17.Comment

Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks
I'm using Favre4vr's error settings (13 for user / 15 for CPU) and I'm seeing enough errors. I'm not seeing quite a realistic amount though because if you increase errors to 18 or 17, you just going to see way too many dropped pop ups, which already occur too frequently. Just last game I won because the CPU threw the ball over the second baseman's head, which is a realistic error. I'd rather have realistic errors occur not often enough than a realistic amount of errors due to too many unrealistic errors.Originally posted by JOEdellisSo if you want errors by the AI, set it to 18 or 17.Comment

Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks
I am using your sliders and love them, but I have one problem, the computer can never score more than 2-3 runs off of me. I usually hold them to 1 run every game. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do to have the computer produce more offense? Thanks in advance.Comment

Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks
Hey man, I am glad you are enjoying the game. I have a couple of questions for you...Which pitching method are you using? Are all the pitching aids off? Also, in franchise, it seems that things even out. I started off pitching well and then went into a big funk during games 20-40. So that may offer some hope.Originally posted by TigersFan13xI am using your sliders and love them, but I have one problem, the computer can never score more than 2-3 runs off of me. Let me know the pitching method b/c if you are using meter, it may be better for you to go with classic. I definitely leave pitches out to be handled, ya know? If you are using classic, we try to boost the CPU offense. Get back to me. Have fun.Formerly Favre4vrComment

Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks
just loving these sliders, i just don't get how i awesome the game is, i go through a streak of 6+ runs a game and then i just go cold and have streaks and all sorts of awesomeness, i am really happy with teh sliders, i didn't even tweak em at all and the pitching though i'm using the meter i haven't had any problems with realism, i tend to throw about 80+ pitches per start in a realistic manner, i have had plenty of games with 100+ in the 6th, no game has ever came close to comparing to this i love it thanks for the great sliders Favre4vr!!!

Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks
I would try the classic pitching method. It definitely makes pitching a lot harder. If not, I recommend gradually upping the power and contact sliders until you find what makes you comfortable. Try adding 2 to power and play a few games. Then add a little to contact and go from there.Originally posted by TigersFan13xI am using meter pitching and yes all of the pitching aids are off, so what do you suggest I do? Thanks again.
I just played a game in my franchise (my third and this time it's final Yankee franchise). I lost 7-0. Mussina walked 3 in 5 innings and gave up 3 hrs. The big blow was a 2 run double by Nick Swisher that Damon just missed. I am still getting accustomed to classic so I may have nights like this. Although Unit gave up only 1 run in 7 in game one on 4 hits (1 2b, 3 singles). Let me know what goes, and I will definitely try to help you out.Formerly Favre4vrComment

Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks
Quick question:
About how many times do you strike out each game? These sliders provide a very realistic game for me in every area... except this one. I strike out 10-15 times a game, no matter who is pitching. I thought after playing this game for a while I would cut down on these, but it hasn't happened.
How do you guys go about batting? Always take the first strike? Use guess pitch/guess location on every pitch? Use the left stick with two strikes or just the X button? How often do you use the Power swing?
Thanks again for these great sliders, favre4vr. And any help with batting is appreciated.

Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks
Hey Ryan---Strikeouts for me are up and down. Last night, Harden struck out, I believe 8 (I think I put in my above post, but I am too lazy to check). I have had games with 12-15 K's and a few games with 3 or so. I do use the guess pitch feature a decent number of times as it doesn't guarantee anything. It just forces me to be disciplined early in the AB. With 2 strikes, I don't use it. Last year, I had a system where I wouldn't use it the first time through the order and then use it. 90% of the time I use the X button and, of course, the L-stick, to hit. I will use the power button a decent amount of times, but, again, it guarantees nothing.Originally posted by rspencer86Quick question:

If that ramble didn't help, maybe try to change the view. I always used catcher and got pretty good at it. Now, Wide is a different type of challenge.
One other thing could maybe be to turn the pitch speed down a bit to help you judge pitches.
I hope some of this helps. Let me know what goes and I will try to think of something else as well.Formerly Favre4vrComment

Dont mention that guys name, lol i was facing the A's last night and it was a nail biter all the way to the 9th( 3-2 ), when mariano blew it with 2 outs and that swisher guy hit a WALKOFF 2 run HR
, my jaw dropped since he did it to one of mariano inside cutters.

Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks
Thanks for the pointers. I don't think anything is wrong with the slider settings, it's just me being terrible at seeing pitches. I'll try changing the view to catcher to see if that helps.Originally posted by favre4vrHey Ryan---Strikeouts for me are up and down. Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks
Yeah, Swisher kills me, but not like Frank Thomas. He destroys me all the time (especially since I have started the franchise over 3 times). I can't wait to be done with the A's!Originally posted by JOEdellisDont mention that guys name, lol i was facing the A's last night and it was a nail biter all the way to the 9th( 3-2 ), when mariano blew it with 2 outs and that swisher guy hit a WALKOFF 2 run HR
