Yeah I did but I couldn't stand the catchers having no blocking attributes. Too many PBs.

The game is actually harder with the edits which can be challenging or frustrating for some.

This is a bad habit, don't do that anymore. You may be successful some of the time but the majority will result in ground ball outs.

However, when I try and watch the entire plate is when I'm having a hard time remaining patient unless it is a really bad pitch.
This just takes time and practice. This game would really benefit from a batting practice mode.

I think the best approach I have had was to use guess pitch but only to guess low fastballs. This helped me narrow things down a bit and not chase garbage more often than not. However, it's just not the same as I really enjoy having no assistance...I just cannot improve or at least it doesn't seem so. Some games I think "I got it!" but then it's games like this where Milwaukee's D. Bush strikes me out 10 times through 7 innings.
If the guess pitch helps, use it! Its okay. Once you become more comfortable you can do away with it. Which set are you using for offense? Maybe you need to pump it up to the next set to see more offense.

              nemesis,

Do you use the power swing? I prefer to just use the contact swing, I was wondering if these sliders are meant to use the power swing.

By the way, first game I used the +2 power setting becuase I wasn't sure if this was best for using just contact swing. Hit two homers, 1 with big tex and 1 with frenchy. 3 or 4 more balls to the fence. But the wind was blowing out 7 mph.

              Great game witht he sliders,
              braves(me) 3 11 1
              Phillies 2 5 2

had howard pop up witht he basses loaded in the 9th to get the win.

I only use the power swing on a hitter's count. Otherwise it is just the contact swing.

Thanks for giving the sliders a shot! It sounds like you had a good game.

Go to set 2 for the contact. Have you tried set 2 for plate awareness?

Leave the cpu where it is at for now.

These sliders are kick ***!!!! i just got done playing a series against the rangers in which i scored just 3 runs in a three game series. lost my last game aginst them in the series, a 16 inning marthation 1-0.

so i go into seattle thinking that after a devistating loss of that type that my offense was just going to sleep walk through this game. well i own seattle since my first season in this game with and with out you sliders. i went on to prove that in this game i played against them

i scored 20 runs off of 26 hits. six of them being doubles and four of them being home runs. i hadnt hit a home run since well i cant remember. i won the game 20-6. i cant praise you enough for your sliders and cant wait for the 08 version of them at all.

you are in my opinion (not that it matters) a MLB THE SHOW SLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDER GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!

                            Nemesis, some updates.

I'm seeing doubles on a regular basis, mostly with lefthanded hitters. Need to work on my righthanded hitting a bit. Some interesting gameplay adjustments here:

The game is slightly tuned differently compared to the PS2.

On the PS2, most of my damage on offense was looking for the low fastball. On the PS3, the low pitch will result in many more groundouts.

Pulling the ball is essential to hitting HR's and doubles. I did not realize how much opposite field power PS2 had and thus I relied on it too much. The PS3 definitely requires more aggressive inside pitch timing for extra base hits. I think I'm getting quicker with contact.

Still struggling with control. I'm at -7 instead of -8. However, I am walking about 2 hitters per game. The pitch meter is definitely more sensitive.

As my pitcher enters the 6th or 7th, control is more difficult and my pitches are wilder. I'll aim low/inside and the pitch will rise high. I never had that problem with the PS2. PS2 was too precise.

However, on -7, I can pitch gems and get bombed. So its close enough. What -7 did was lower the # of HR's I'm giving up.

**Power swing isn't getting me HR's. I'm having more success with the contact. This bothers me as non HR hitters do not hit HR's without the power swing. Is it pressure sensitive? Do I need to push a bit harder than the contact button?

The game and your sliders are great.

                            Thanks

The cpu definitely throws enough of them. They like to induce the ground ball. lol!

I still see a fair amount of opposite field HR from the cpu and sometimes myself but not as much as the ps2 version. It really has to do with the timing window that they have programmed in the game.

There is nothing more satisfying than pulling a hit for extra bases or a round tripper.

It is not pressure sensitive. The swing is just supposed to be harder.

Thanks for putting them to the test!

Should I leave Power where it is then? Your comment was a bit misleading.
