Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
I do not know what to do with this game anymore. I can't hit anything but singles and it seems that my pitches don't go anywhere near where they should even when I hit my spots perfectly. Not to mention the fact that the CPU decides it's going to get hot randomly. I went from loving this game to wanting to smash it into a million pieces.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
Fired up the game, Houston at Chicago (I'm the Cubs). Great game, wind blowing in from left at 24mph, ended up 5-3 Houston. Very cool, was able to pitch right handers inside and just let 'em bang the ball to left only to have the wind knock it down. Only homer was hit by Houston to RF with the wind pushing it towards the line. Ramirez almost got a low line drive out to left-center only to have Lane go up and catch it just under the basket, crashing off the wall after making the catch.
Good variety of batted balls and hits. Couple of doubles, one triple, a bunt single, shattered bat tap to pitch, and with a runner on first a swinging bunt with Barret quickly getting out from behind the plate and throwing out the runner at second.
Great sliders Nemesis, very happy with the way they play.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
Hey Nemesis, Do you think that using the power swing translates into more doubles being hit?
I use the power swing quite a bit & hit 7 2B's in my last game. Back to back to back in an inning even? (two homers in the game too)
Timing is key, Working the count is another...

As far as hitting keep with it. Are you using the left stick to aim? Use the power swing for some added pop. It will come!“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

The extra base hits are in the game and the power swing helps. As you mentioned working the count is key. On many fronts this game is so close to the real thing it is scary.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
Right now I'm getting good games but am losing more than winning, mostly due to my lack of discipline. In other words I still tend to swing at pitches I shouldn't even when I get ahead in the count. I get that real life moment of being ahead in the count 3-0\3-1 and yet swing at a pitch low in the zone for a double play when I've already told myself not to swing at anything low. Gives me the same frustration I'd feel if I was back playing IRL, very cool.
I also wonder when I do drive a pitch in the gap or hit a homer if the pitch I just hit was a mistake or did the pitcher really intend to throw it there? Like real life, unless it's an absolute hanger, you never really know for sure. Did the pitcher intend to throw the fastball on the inner half you just deposited on Waveland? Or did he simply miss his spot when he intended to go away?
With regard to power swing I probably have gotten as many extra base hits\homers with the regular swing as the power. Though I think the 450 foot bombs probably only happen with the power swing. I tend to use the power swing only when ahead in the count and obviously if I guess a pitch and location right. FWIW I only use guess in what I believe are realistic situations, that is firstball fastball, 3-0\3-1 counts etc. Another great thing about The Show is guessing right doesn't mean hitting a home run, it means IF your timing is good you will hit the ball hard. Of course hard hit balls have a better chance of going out but it is certainly far from automatic.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
You would need to bring the command slider above default, probably to about +2 or so. The movement slider would have to be backed down, I would start at default with it and move it up a little at a time to your comfort level. Lastly, The wild pitch freq. would have to be brought down to below default. I would start at -2. Hope this helps!“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
The pitching has been set-up to be difficult. Less command and a lot of movement. Move the command slider up and bring the movement slider down to lessen the effect.

I use the left stick to aim where the pitch is thrown. Am I correct in doing this? If so I guess I just suck.Comment
