Out of curiosity nemesis, what do you look for to determine whether a low pitch is a strike or not? I hate to go back to using the guess pitch feature with any sort of feedback but I just cant see that low pitch to save my life. I played one game with the feedback turned on just to protect low and ended up scoring 10 runs on 16 hits because the pitcher was unwilling to alter his gameplan and kept going low constantly. If I could figure out a way to better identify the low pitch I wouldnt have the problems Im having, any advice you can offer would be great, thanks.

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
I've got the opposite problem from the poster above. I'm really struggling on high strikes in the zone. Especially if it's a fastball. I've got the horrid tendancy to always point the LT downwards on any pitch thrown to me. I'll probably try turning the pitch speed a couple of notches down.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
Well, I guess its time to admit I suck and just play the way I want to play. Im using the guess pitch feature to gaurd against balls in the dirt and I only guess down in the same spot the entire at bat, I normally wont swing at these since it results in a ground out more times then not but it forces the CPU to throw more pitches and its not like Im killing the ball anyways. I have won 3 of my last 4 games but Ive also been lucky in getting a timely hit off of Valverde in Arizona and Fuentes in Colorado, my offense hasnt been over the top at all. I know Im going to be told that I must suck, which is fine since Im already well aware of that, lol. My team batting average is 26th so Im a mess at the plate, and my team era is only 17th so Im struggling right now, but atleast Im having a good time doing it.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
Nemesis--Just tried these out, and they played a great game. The only question I have pertains to user pitching. Do you find that you give up a normal amout of walks and throw a decent amount of pitches? I have messed with Classic pitching some, and I like the ball-to-strike ratio that mode gives. With this slider set, I think I was throwing 75-80% strikes, which is pretty high. Any recommendations?
Thanks for the good work!Comment

Thanks, KowboyKoop. I'll give that a try. Other than liking Classic pitching a little more than meter, I really enjoyed this slider set, so those adjustments should help.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
Two questions...
1. Do you find with the wind at +7 that its tougher to hit homeruns? Playing as the Dodgers I cant hit a HR at home because every game the wind is blowing in, so it makes it really tough to ever win a game at home.
2. Has any solution been found so the outfielders dont react quite so quickly on flyballs? Seems like I can scorch the ball only to see the guy make the routine play even though the ball is clearly in the gap when I hit it. Thanks again for your help.
EDIT- Well after lowering the wind back to default I finally hit my first homerun in Dodger Stadium all year and considering Im 8-10, thats pretty sad. Ive only hit a total of 10 homeruns or so in that same span, the ball would always just die in the outfield everytime.Last edited by The Chef; 06-17-2007, 02:12 PM.Comment

As far as giving up walks, I give up anywhere from 2 to 5 walks a game.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
I have not found wind at +7 to be tougher on homeruns. Overall, I wish wind had more of an affect on the game. Unfrotunately in this game the wind blows in more than it blows out.
For this year the only other fix would be individual player edits. Next year we need a cpu fielder speed slider!“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
So...on CPU Fielder Reaction time, what is the final answer? If you put the slider all the way to the left, -10 or whatever, will it make the fielders slower or faster at reacting to the ball?? Anyone know? I heard it doesn't make too much of a difference, but it would be good to know.Comment

You bring it all the way to the left (-10) for the cpu fielders to react slowly to hit balls. The game needs a fielder speed slider for the cpu to eliminate all the robbed hits in the gap.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment
