    Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)

I just played my first game with the PS2 sliders noted in this topic. I am very impressed. I played PIT at CIN (me). Harang let up a run in the 1st, after allowing 3 singles with two outs in the inning. In the bottom of the first, Freel walks to start the game, Hatteberg Ks, Dunn Ks, and Griffey turns on a inside fastball sending it about 20 rows up in right center.

Dunn struck out three times and failed to drive in the run from 3rd in his fourth at-bat, pretty accurate if you ask me.

I had a great 10 pitch at-bat with David Ross, which ended on a 4-seam fastball away. While I was trying to just foul it off, I ended up hitting it off the top of the foul pole down the right field line.

In the end I was 6-2, pitch counts were pretty dead on. Harang had 106 pitches in his 7 innings and Dukes had 98 after 5 innings, they pulled him after Encarnacion with a 2-run double off the top of the wall in left center.

It felt great, thanks! I can finally start a franchise, once I create Homer Bailey of course.

Great results! Thanks for the feedback and trying the sliders!

        Nemesis,

Can you offer some slider adjustment help for me please? I've been using your last set of sliders and they're working out ok but there are a few minor issues I'm having: I'm not getting very many strikeouts, Seems like I'm getting too many hits, and the computer leaves their starting pitchers in even after giving up 6 + runs and 10 + hits before the 3rd or 4th innings. I don't want to make too big of an adjustment to the sliders as these are working ok. Just maybe some minor tweaks to address these issues. Thanks.

Sliders are great but I never hit HRs! Granteed, I'm the Nationals but I have one HR hit in about 10-12 games for my entire team. It was a PH homerun the other way.

Do you guys use power swing for HRs? I hit mine with regular contact and have been trying to use power swing at more opportune times but to no avail.

I only use the power swing on 2-0, 3-0 (not often), 3-1 counts. I will also use it on the first pitch sometimes if I notice the CPU is throwing alot of first pitch strikes.

If you are not striking out the cpu batters you could adjust the plate discipline for the cpu batters and you need to work on your pitching game. At the current settings there really is no reason why you could not get at least 4 to 7 k's a game.

As far as hits go, what set are you using for power and contact?

If the cpu is leaving the sp in too long, raise the manager hook up 2 notches. I have not seen too much of this problem this year.

              Keep me posted!

Only use the power swing on hitter's counts.

I'm fairly certain that I am using set 2 for contact/power and set 1 for awareness.

I'm getting 2 - 3 K's per game. I'm using the power and contact settings that were in the latest slider post on this thread, whatever they are. I tried the hook 2 notches last night and the starting pitchers were getting yanked way too soon. I think I'll try 1 for that one.

With set 2 you should definately be seeing hr's. Are you using the left stick to aim your swing?

2-3 k's is too low. What is your walk total for games? As far as hits, there are 3 sets, the first set should give you the least amount of offense and sets 2 and 3 give you more offense. If you are on set 1 , then we need to adjust the plate vision slider to cut down on your contact.

Try one notch for the hook slider, you may still find yourself back at the original setting after a few games.

Good luck! Let me know how it goes.

It is #2 for sure. I am probably aiming more LEFT or RIGHT than UP/LEFT and UP/RIGHT.

I'm getting better but again, I'm the Nationals and we ride a bus lol. We suck badddddddddd. I'm like 8-25 at home right now. Can't wait for the draft!

The contact slider in this game determines the quality of the bat on ball contact not the hitter's ability to hit the ball. With that said, if we lower this rating it is really important that you are accurate with the left stick to make solid contact. This is a reason why you are not seeing more hr's.
